I did wander over to the other site where it seems Nomadken mentioned the risers I spoke about. This is a nicer site, but not visited much, Why is that? The gallery itself offers so much info, just by checking out other folks rides.

Understand the difference... the Delphi forum is simply a forum and a very good one. We visit it several times a day, link to them an vice-versa. I am also a moderator on that forum.

We are a web site with a forum attached. So this forum is just one piece of a larger service. We only started the forum recently - its only a couple of months old - so there isn't a bunch of postings yet.

You know, I get kinda' caught up in the ego thing with everybody that I ride with having a Harley, and I'm riding this 800 Kawi'. Then I think, well wouldn't it be cool to have a big ole' Indian to sport around on, but then I realize it's just the name really. My Drifter is coming around to just the way I want it, by the way my new Corbin seat came in last Friday. It hasn't been tested on a long ride yet though, possibly this weekend I hope. My expectation's were completely satisfied, they did a great job on it. Maybe some day I'll put a few pictures up in the gallery, and maybe some one might get inspired by my Drifter as well.

you can upload pics on this forum and we will periodically add them to the gallery. Or you can email me with the pics. If you haven't done so, please go back to the website and register your bike with us. Then we will be able to add your pics to member gallery as well.

What is up with Indian anyway? They don't have much in the way of dealers. I live in the Tampa Bay area, and supposedly a dealership was going to open - according to their site - nothing yet that I know of. I would just like to see one in person for my own curiosity.  8)

They are building some bikes - you can look at their site online. They pretty much look just like the previous "new" Indians IMHO - and they are VERY expensive. Kaw did it right and did it at a fraction of the cost.

I did get the info on the risers and ended up with the round riser extensions for 30bucks or so.
Good deal and they work perfect.

As for indians and harleys and such keep this in mind, when you ride a Kawasaki you are riding a bike built by a company who started in 1878. Long before Harley, Indian or most other auto makers.
I ride with all folks but don't get intimidated by any.
I ride what I like. Bottom line.
The 800 is a great all around bike. Can't go wrong on price, cost to maintain and equip and the fuel economy is good.
Plus 87 octane takes you anywhere you want to go.
My Nomad takes 90 plus octane and talks to me if I don't.
Bottom line the Drifter 800 is a sweet bike with light weight ease and comfort for those longer rides.
Take care

Don't mind you referring folks to the Drifter forum on Delphi. Lots of good info there and we are about the info - not competition.

I just installed riser spacer kit I got off ebay. They went on with out any problem, thanks to the instruction's provided by the seller. The spacers are highly polished aluminum, with all hardware provided.

Here is the Item number: 110290054613 on ebay for you to check out. I had tried 4" dogbones, but they put to much strain on the cables, then I saw these which was exactly what I wanted in the first place. The spacers are 2", and bring the bars up & back perfectly. I had taken a ride last sunday, about 150 miles or so, and they were great. My only problem with my Drifter is the seat, a real butt breaker IMO. So I bought a Corbin, which I hope will arrive any day...

Good Luck!

I was just reading this thread the other day that might help you: http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=KawasakiDrifter&msg=9991.17  For some reason I can't get it to start you on page 1, so go to the bottom of the page and go back to the beginning.

I hope I didn't just make a faux pas!

Can you guys help me choose the best handle bar risers for my Drifter 800?
Any input would be helpful.
Thanks,
Ken
