Thank you gentlemen..I haven't had a bike that ticks like this for a long time, but this is the biggest engine I have owned, I've had plenty of 1100's but never a 1500 so I wanted to make sure I didn't have to repair something..

nope....its your bike telling you , that you should give it to me...... ;D

just metal cooling down...no problem.

unless you owe money to the i.r.s....then its something else all together.

Mine's a ticker too.  That's the heart of the bike you're hearing.   8)

I've done several thousand miles on this bike, runs of 2 miles up to 300 miles and one thing they all have in common..after I switch off the ignition the engine ticks..that cooling tick you get as metal cools down..I've run the bike for hundreds of miles at one go, I've even spent over an hour in first gear at walking speed at a funeral procession and then done a 50 mile run home and it still has that same ticking sound as it cools down..

So my question is do all 1500 drifters do this when they cool down..

Just to clarify the situation the fan cuts in when it gets hot and although there is plenty of heat from the exhaust and the engine everything works as it should..
