Leather covered dash...

I currently have a cover that's been on the bike since the PO. It's not really my style and only reason that I haven't removed it is because it matches other details on the bike AND because it has a very convenient storage pouch. The PO also installed a cig. lighter cable for charging cell phones etc:

Will you have these to fit a 99 1500? I will definately want one in tan color.
Dan

Yeah, we are working on a version for each dash. We think we can make them with the dash, so you can always put your existing dash back on if you wanted.

Don't forget that your potential market is further limited..would someone with a black seat want a brown cover..

John.

They will come in different color leathers including ... ugh... blackkkkkk !  :P

It's pretty cool, but I'm just not sure how many you could sell.  would it fit the Nomad and Classic too?  If so, that would open your market considerably.

ummm.... I will need to look into that. I'm not really interested in selling thousands, a few would be nice.

Any new accessory for our bikes is ALWAYS like doing a one-off... there simply aren't enough of us to get things done cheaply. I have, since my first Harley... ALWAYS had leather on my tank, so I am partial to it.  I also tend to prefer things that few others have.

I already have a tank bib, but not like that one.  Mine has a pouch on it.  You can see it on Singh's site.

I would go with fringe, studs, conches, etc. . . .. . if I were in the market for a tank bib.

I like the overall concept, but the price is way off.  Something like that could probably be created for around $75, so factoring in a persons time (and that would be a decent amount of time for the first few), you'd have to figure around $150 for selling a few.  Sell more and the price could drop some.  The problem is that with a limited production bike, your selling pool is limited for a rather subjective piece like this.

Petemoss

I like the idea, but not that design. I would probably like somethin in chrome.

;) Unlike 49 I am not cheap I am frugal and I would not spend a lot of money on this, I would want it plain no studs, fringy thingys, and what about my idiot lights, kind of grew to like them.....and a tank bib that was part and parcel might be an enticement.

Whaddaya mean you're not cheap!!?? Call it what you want, pal, just remember......no matter how much perfume you put on a pig, it's still a pig..... ;D :o

I would have to see one on a bike first...

That's what I was thinking.  Having a hard time imagining it.

No Worries

Don't know if I would put one on my bike; if it was just a tank panel and not the speedo housing. But not at $700.00...... maybe $50.00-$60.00.... but then I have been accused of being cheap.....

I have started a little poll to gage interest in something like this... The picture is for an Indian Chief and costs about $700...!!!  I know that price won't fly, but the general concept is nice. So the poll is for the CONCEPT... feel free to leave comments about pricing too, however.
