Yes, that's what happens...The bike is no longer imported, and then a few years later it gets "discovered" and the price goes straight up...Have you priced an '88 Fiero lately? The bike has the '10 and later W-800 badges on it...now I know they will fit, for sure..

Well, I found the one I want.  It's even 2-tone, and red and black, really sharp.  Corbin seat, and pipes too.  Man, this is starting to seem like when I was shopping for the drifter.....

Unfortunately, it's a long way from home, and the asking price is even more than I paid for the drifter. :(

NICE....DEUS ex Machina does some nice builds. The "W" is quite rare in the U.S. They only imported a limited number in 2000 and '01. They actually brought more into Canada...into 2003, I think. I love that machine. I did a little performance enhancing with some air box mods and a jet kit. I learned a long time ago not to do anything to a bike that can't be undone. One man's custom is another's disaster...
The paint was done, primarily because the original was all scratched up and there were dents in the tank. Performance tires, performance brakes, grips, bars off a '67 t120 Triumph and the bikini fairing....all easily put back to stock... Good luck finding one, but they are really a blast to ride......

Those are really sharp.   Makes me want one.  I've been looking at "cheap" Triumphs, Nortons & BSA's trying to find one in decent enough shape that I could justify as a second toy.   (yea, I haven't been looking at much- not any cheap ones available).    It looks like the W650 is as good of a "solution" to a modern/nice triumph/BSA/Norton as the Drifter is to a modern Indian...

Troll, or anybody else that knows, What are your thoughts on this.  Honestly, I haven't looked into any W650s, other than drooling on Troll's pictures elsewhere on the forum, and these as well.  Looks like they're even more rare than Drifters....

Troll... I saw these beauties from Billy Joel's 20th Century Cycles Shop and thought of you and your W650.
