The walk was a week ago, and yes I did.

I bypassed a motorcycle ride to attend the walk..

Yeah I have always found it okay to park in those sorts of places... as long as its not blocking safety equipment, exits, hydrants etc.

ok that more then answered my questions, but now raises another one......

Relay for Life, did you just go to eat or did you participate in the actual walk?

GPS is not to get you THERE but rather to get you home from THERE

In actuality, I have parked my motorcycle many times in many places where cars are not allowed to. (I am sure many of us have)

In the yellow striped area next to the light pole at the end of a row of parked cars.
Outside Walmart out of the way, near where they keep the propane cylinder exchange.
And yes Sidewalks. (But out of the way of pedestrian traffic.)

And I have NEVER (it may happen tomorrow) been reprimanded, or ticketed by an officer for illegal parking.

As a matter of fact, just earlier his evening my wife and I went to a community function for Relay or Life.
We pulled up on the Drifter, in to the fair grounds, past all the parked cars, up to where the Police and Firetrucks were parked and on display, we parked out of their way, stopped said hi to them, thanked them for their service.
Then continued in to the arena to enjoy some live music and some boiled crawfish.

Later came back out, got some compliments on the bike, said thanks, and went on our way.

I figure it is a 50/50 chance of being 1 of 2 things.
Either I have been lucky.
Or if you act like you know what you are doing, most people won't question you...

Or they may figure as long as you are not breaking the law too egregiously, or blatantly, you are not worth their time....
Rule number 1 of survival,  blend in..

But that is hard to do on a Drifter.....

Which one, the officer, or the snot nosed brat that thought he was being tough?

Hope that answered your question.......
