Tell me why you haven't considered spoke covers? they are cheap, they just clip on and they keep your spokes clean...

I have 3M Scotchlite spoke reflectors on mine.

Just had a thought.  What about bare (if I understand 'bare' to be raw steel), then soak them in gun blue solution?  Wouldn't that look cool??  Unfortunately, it would rust....

There is also the guncote type stuff - supposed to be rust-proof.  I haven't used it (yet) but it should be easier than powder coating.

Thanks for the input. Tried Buchanan and they only offer bare and chrome finish.  Going to give Ride Wright tomorrow as they look to have some color stuff.

Have you contacted any of the custom wheel builders?  I've seen some nice looking black wheels, but honestly don't know what was done with the spokes.  A couple I found online are Buchanan's http://www.buchananspokes.net/categories/index.asp and Ridewright http://www.ridewrightwheels.com/.  I'm sure there are others (?).  If it were me, I'd start with these guys, to see if they can help you.

Ok need a bit of help from the community on the Drifter spoke wheels...

My current build requires going from the OEM chrome finish to black.  No problem with the hubs or hoops, they are going out for powder coat.  The spokes are proving to be an issue though.  Sending all the spokes for powder coat is just not an option (well it is, BUT it is my last option).  Can some one point me in the right direction for a company that sells spokes for the drifter wheel in black.

Thanks in advance
Cally
