Awesome, thank you Chief. I noticed that the fast idle works great when I first start her up and after 1 minute she idles back down to a nice even deep slow pace. But after I run her for 20 minutes up the road when I come to a light the idle is much faster and won't come back down. So now i can adjust that idle down with that little knob on the right. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thanks again!

I wondered if that was what you meant... idle speed adjustment knob... after the engine is warmed up you can adjust the idle speed.

Thanks Troll, you are the best for informaion. I'm French so please forgive me, I meant my other left side. this is a very small knob on a cable that is kinda floating on the right side between and at cylinder top level.

Thanks again!

Take care,

Pete

The hoses all run to the fuel tank. They are a vapor vent, and two overflow hoses. Next to the filler opening under the cap, you will see a hole. That hole is 1 of the overflows. The fuel gauge housing has it's own hose, and the last one is connected at the rear of the tank right by the seat front mount. The knob on the left front is a "choke", except it's not. it's actually a fast idle control.

Well, just rode my bike home this past Monday, hour and a half ride on both backroads and highway, 55 degrees and sunny. First real ride since I bought her last fall. Love the V&H longshots sound with quiet baffles. Little to no popping on deceleration so far. She ran great and I fell in love instantly with my new bike. Couldn't stop smiling the rest of the day. Wife said I looked like a kid on Christmas morning. Looking her over carefully for the first time yesterday I noticed a small cable with turn knob sticking out of the left side near the top of the cylinder heads. Can't really see where it goes and couldn't find a reference to it in the owner's manual or the repair manual. Anybody know what this is and what it does?

Also, I noticed 3 overflow hoses sticking out underneath. I noticed because one was even touching the ground. I figured 1 for battery, 1 for coolant but what is the 3rd one for? Fuel?

Will have pics soon of the new rear plate/directionals, seat etc. mods that were done this winter, promise . . . Now that she's home I can start working on the rest of the things I need to get done, fit the new 2 up seat, add passenger floorboards, bags, possible windshield. I am a sucker for the clean look however. I like to see the bike in all her glory with little add ons. Bags and windshield will only be on with the 2 up seat and my honey for long trips this summer. Will ride the rest of the time the way she looks now.  ;)

Thank you all for all the tips and suggestions and help over the winter. You guys are the best!!!!

Take care,

Pete
