Shoot, a lawyer that could win that case could probably sell you some broccoli and cheese!

I think so, but I'll bet he doesn't get to use an insanity plea.

After the Boston Marathon bombing, days of armed terrorists on the loose in the Boston area, and a door-to-door search for a terror suspect that ended in gun fire on the night of April 19, gun control will be an even tougher sell to the American people next time around.

The problem Reid and other Democrats face is that we are no longer living only with the tragic memory of the heinous crime at Sandy Hook Elementary, but now with the reality of the cold, calculated terror attack on the Boston Marathon. Massachusetts residents who sat huddled in their homes when Boston was on lock-down were reminded that they were their own first line of defense if the terrorist came to their door as, when seconds count, 911 responder's would likely be more then the average few minutes away. And lets not forget the rest of the country was reminded of the importance of having a gun for self-defense as well, as news coverage of Boston's struggle filled television screens across the nation.

As for the coward who is left alive from this latest attack, it was first reported that he would be treated legally as an American Citizen, but last I hear they plan to change that and treat him as an enemy combatant.  http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/04/21/Update-Label-Tsarnaev-Enemy-Combatant-for-Now-Can-Give-Bill-of-Rights-Later

I've been watching Fox so I get the truth, rather than the government approved spin. I am so infuriated by the parade of "intelligence" officials they are interviewing, all attempting to cover their ass. They are all so worried about getting it wrong...TOO DAMN LATE!!! The time to worry about getting it wrong was 2 years ago, about these two, and 35 years ago about the rest of them. I would like to know why we grant the rights of a US citizen to non citizens...If we went to their countries, we would not get the same treatment.

It appears, as in Britain, it isn't the new immigrants who are the problem... its the SECOND generation. Those who were raised in the country. Then, of course, there's the "clerics" who incite everyone to become martyrs... except themselves of course. The younger of this crew became an American citizen on 09/11/2012.

There are people who risk death for a chance to get what this person had. Evil exists.

That is because our government is far too concerned with not offending anyone and giving everyone the benefit of the doubt until you do something like this. Unless of course you are a conservative gun owner, then we must watch you like a hawk.

The Russians warned the FBI about these guys 2 years ago, and they didn't connect the dots, again...

I personally wish we could implement my brand of punishment. I believe he should be tied up at the finish line of next year's marathon and every finisher can punch him in the face or kick him in the sack. I went into the city today. It was strange seeing boylaton st empty. I also had to walk about a mile further than normal Bc the only way I knew to get where I was going would have gone through the cordon.

I agree with you JH.That's the question a lot of us have. Then again when your so brain washed by "your beliefs"what a better place to do these cowardly acts, then a place you hate, not to mention we have an open invite to our country. This needs to change!

I'm glad they caught the people responsible for this atrocity..let's hope security and immigration is tightened up so that it is harder for them to infiltrate again..

I find it difficult to understand why someone would seek to live in a country that they hate.

Unfortunately we blame the person for this type of act, but the hardware in a shooting.

How do you explain this to a six year old???

There are bad people in the world. That is all you can tell them. Teach them that most people care for others, but some people want to make people hurt. I explained my deployment in that way to my then 4 year old and that daddy was going to help as one of the good guys. Give kids credit for being able to understand concepts that we think are beyond them. Explain it in basic terms, but most importantly know hour child and try to truly understand their questions. Don't give a more detailed answer than they are asking for.

While my prayers go out for those who have been victimized by this terrible tragedy, I also pray that this will open the eyes of those who seek to limit our Second Amendment right and make them realize that it's not the tool that's bad, but the person using the tool for evil that is the problem.

A close friend of mine was working the finish line. When I heard the news my heart nearly stopped. Thankfully both he and a classmate who had just finished the race are both physically ok. I urged them both to seek founseling. I was wounded in a bombing in Afghanistan and while I have recovered well from the physical injuries the psychological scars are harder to bear. We Bostonians are a hearty people and we will get through this. I honk I speak on behalf of all of us when I thank everyone for their support in the aftermath of such a cowardly and despicable act.

I agree. For years I have feared terrorists would change tactics from large scale to small scale... we are more likely to thwart large scale.

You can't explain this to a six year old..but hopefully you will never have to..

To put this action in context, for each person injured or killed, at that exact moment there were hundreds of others injured or killed in everyday accidents..

Anyone in those accidents will be looking for the same answers..

That is the way the government will be looking at this and they will find those responsible and deal with them, no doubt at a cost of millions of dollars in legal fees..

John.

The trick is to balance safety and freedom. Terrorism is all about forcing us to change our lives. 911 was successful in doing that... we see that every time we have to endure another TSA "screening" at the airport.

Our leaders have decided Political correctness and political agenda take priority over both the Constitution and our safety. As a result, we may lose our freedoms and still never be safe. For me, subverting our Constitution, taking our freedoms for the sake of safety is unacceptable.

The problem is how to protect 4.6 million people people from one or two nutters who think they are at war but don't wear a uniform..

Many people think the USA is a vast country but the reality is that you can be out of one city and into another in a very short time..

I imagine the authorities have examined traffic and security cctv and found out who did this.

John.
