There are three ways that I paint stripes. First way is using the good old pinstripe brush. I leave that to a buddy of mine. Otherwise most bike shows have some dude who does stiping on site.  The second is to stripe using a thin vinyl masking tape.  I run two parallel lines of 1/8 inch tape, mask the outer edges, then spray the stripe. The third was is to spray the stripe color first, mask the "stripe" line with a 1/4 inch vinyl masking tape, then spray the top coats.

I think most people use masking tape, unless they are skilled and then they do it by hand, there is a good youtube video of the Royal Enfield tank being pinstriped by hand in India.

I painted my Vulcan 1500 Drifter last year and laid out the pin stipe using pinstripe tape.  The pinstriping turned out pretty good but I'd like to improve on it.  Would anyone know where I could purchase a templete or a guide layout for the stripes?  I dom't want a decal.  I'd rather have a painted stripe.
Thanks in advance for any assistance one may lend.
