cleaning fenders

Ratman,I'm so proud of you wanting to give all your extra money away to the needy.Aidan says be sure his ice shamy is on the list and would request some new tip ups as well.I could use some of "your" funds to further my education.Some computer class's for "dummies"101 would benefit me,oh and of course a new computer so this one could find It's way to the garbage can .

John,just a thought here but,if you have a jack.....jack up the rear to a "safe",comfortable height to make it easier for yourself to get in there and also don't forget some type of eye protection.All kind of debris comes flying out of the rear fender being It's so big giving that mud plenty of clinging base.A good pressure garden hose should do the trick,I myself wouldn't recommend a power washer for this project.

  D1, I have a plan for when I win the big lottery and I am honestly giving most of the money away because I only need a bit to make me happy, I would use a lot of the money for educational help for people and pay off house bills for people just because I could......

That garden hoe is an intriguing idea...most of the ones around here are in alleys at bar time.......

ok so I made a spelling error and meant hose, just aim the garden hose under the fender lip and spray away.....lol.....

I usually use a tobacco hoe...it's much smaller...or maybe he means hose?

Sorry, I've just gotta ask how do you get a garden hoe up there, and I don't really have that much dirt..

It's the rear fender I'm having trouble with, it's so low to the ground I can't see if it is clean or dirty..

Yeh, watch the pressure under the font fender if you have an indian head and have the wires running under there.

I get my hip waders on and go and kneel next to the bike and run my pressure washer along under the fender and move around as best as I can.....or use the pressure washer to get under there on a gentle pressure so as not to damage anything......

I have just returned from a 600 mile round trip in bad weather on my 1500 so I took the bike to the local Jet wash..It's pretty hard to clean inside the fenders and when I put the cleaning wand under the rear fender it bought all sorts of muck out..

So how do you clean inside your fenders..I ride a lot so I can't take the fenders off everytime they need cleaning..
