Came right off. IMO, it definitely looks better. Have to wait for the freakin snow to melt to see how it handles.

Should be safe, you're just basically taking it back to stock looks like.

As long as the bolts you get are the right size.  I'm guessing the bolt heads probly go in hex-shaped or slot-shaped recess in the bottom part of the handlebar clamp - so they don't turn when you tighten them up.  Then they have to be the proper length to reach through far enough to get the washers/nuts on them.  Nothing a trip to the hardware store shouldn't accomplish!!

They are pretty high. If I can remove the extensions is appears to have, the bars would sit a lot lower. Which may or may not look better. I'd like to give it a try next weekend, if it's safe to do.

Pc, those look exactly like my risers without the extensions.

Here's some pics of my stock risers on my 1500.  The pics were showing my F&S windshield mounts, but you can see the risers quite well.

The only thing between the risers and the the top of the triple tree is the windshield mount, which is virtually nothing.

Petemoss yours seem to be alot higher then mine, and pull back a tad. Mine are about 3 " high and not back any.

 perhaps if you open your eyes...lol......it would not take them the first time around...lol......

would be really interested in sitting on a couple different Drifter 800's to see what the different seats and risers make in fact if any....

Betcha there's a bolt head hiding under the handlebar going through the riser "extenstion".  Looks to me like taking out that 4" extension, or spacer would put it back to stock.

I can see what you mean - those appear a little awkward-looking, maybe - hard to tell without seeing the whole handlebar picture.  Mine (I don't know what brand they are) were made on an angle, sweeping them back a bit.  I think they put the bars in a nice position, comfort-wise.
