Handlebar risers

I'm getting a mental image...   Maybe yours use the original clamp and just use a longer bolt to attach the riser part - I have never had mine off, and they came on the bike, so I don't exactly know what "stock" looks like.

I looked up the OEM parts on kawasakipartshouse, and if yours look like the attachment, then maybe that's exactly how your risers are.  Looks like taking them out and/or shortening them would only entail getting shorter bolts, maybe.

My risers look like a 4" pipe is seperate from the part that holds to the bars. It's hard to explain without pics, but, they do look detachable.

This is a pic of my risers.  The actual "riser" part is half of the handlebar clamp, so it can't be removed and left out of hte pictures, without replacing with something else to clamp the bars.  Yours could be different, though.

If they're like mine, the lower half of the riser would have to be replaced with something else (lower in your case) to hold the bar.  They look like these?

Swap out, but not remove?

Absolutely you can swap out risers for different size risers.  The thing you've got to take into consideration is cable and hose lengths.  Scootworks sells a ton of risers for our bikes.

I have 4" risers on my handlebars. I was thinking a lower profile look would look better. Can the risers be removed without compromising the safety of the bike?
