800 drifter inner fork tube compatability

Well, cheap cycle parts finally sent me the proper fork tube for my 800, the key word is tube because they sent only one of the two I ordered. E-mailed them and the second will be shipped on the 22nd. Came in a huge box with lots of paper with the tiny little tube in the middle. Was dissapointed when I found that it was only one tube. They could have waited and sent them both at the same time, lol. 180.00 dollars each! OMG!

Yeah, the fuel injected bikes fork dimensions are different then the carbed bikes.  The 800 Drifter uses F.I. forks even though it's carbed.  At least that's my understanding of it.

My understanding is that the Drifters all use the Classic F. I. front end, so the parts are the same.  Maybe I'm off base.......

If the upper fork tubes from the 1500 drifter [fuel injected] are the same as my 800 drifter, then why are the part numbers different for same year, and I thought only the drifter 1500 was fuel injected and not the 1500 classic. The 800 classics were also carborated, up until the 900 models. I could be wrong.

All the Drifters use fuel injected Classic forks, so yes.  I don't think the carbed Classic forks will work though.

Can I use 800 classic or 1500 drifter or classic upper fork tubes on my 800 drifter? I think that they are all 41mm tubes, but don't know if they are longer or shorter or different internally.

does anyone know if any other inner fork tubes will work on the 800 drifter? Everyone seems to have these on backorder for the 800 drifter, and the 1500 drifter and the 800 classic have different part numbers for them. What are the differences?
