John Hopkins

For those of you who suffer with advanced arthritis here is a little true story..

Some years ago I had a good friend who was 85 years old and suffered with arthritis, his fingers had almost turned into useless claws and gave him constant pain.

One day he booked a two week vacation in Spain which is quite a hot country and while sitting on the beach he covered himself with Amber Solare sun tan lotion, of course he had to use his fingers to apply it, and to his suprise at the end of the two week vacation he found that he had a lot less pain and a lot more use of his hands, now this could have been a combination of the lotion and the weather, but when he returned to England he continued to use the lotion and started walking each day, each day he increased the distance a bit and he had a new lease of life without so much pain..

If any of you sufferers try this method and it works, pass it on to someone else because it is not right that someone should suffer needlessly..

John.

:( I asked about it last summer, and was told I needed to have them scoped and cleaned, first.....that has been done.........now waiting till I am like PC and old enough to get them done, they are only good for so long so they decide when you need them and it is not a quality of life issue.
I fought VA for 10 years over my knees and it was a long bitter fight so I am going to play the game their way but to my advantage. After talking to some of the USAF lads here I understand your VA system is vastly different from ours....

;) my mind is sharp (or at least I think it is) but my body is wearing out due to years of not taking proper care of it...proper PP&E. I am fine as long as I am sitting down. but once I go to move and walk the pain and stiffness, but perhaps I can talk VA into new knees....then I can be as young as Chilli or even 49 again...if not then I'll be old like PC.....

Works for me!! I'll have to haul mine by dogsled to milder climes first, though. Got home Monday night, 2 feet of snow in the yard. Spent most of yesterday plowing the driveway. I've had enough of that brand of fun for this winter.

With Alzheimer's likely in my future, My damn brain is what will wear out before my body... so... let's eat drink and smoke what we want and ride where we want. If I luck out, something else will get me before I end up at the VA curled up in a ball.

My insurance is paid up and my bike is gassed up....let's ride south   :o

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!" -famous quotation...probably from a rock star ::)
