Yeah, but look what they've done to me now!

CDNRatMan

Drifter1 there seems to be no one who makes an adapter for a lift for the 800. but there are people who make lifts for the 800

http://www.discountramps.com/motorcycle-lift-jack.htm

if my adaptor idea fails then I will order one of these if I can not find something at the bike show in Jan.

good I was not really happy to think they might want to probe my mind....

I hope to have the final attempt at the lift this weekend if my welder is free from family things....and then I can see if my idea works...

There is NO probing going on!  Nothing worth probing for, so they tell me.

I think they just find me a curiosity.....

Don't worry Ratman, you're safe!  They have you ALL figured out.....and they don't want any part of that!

Drift1

Thanks RATMAN,I was just curious.I'm having the same problem (not being able to lift the bike),but I'm finally off  work for the next three days so hopefully I'll get time to fiddle around,to raise the bike. It's going to drive me bonkers sitting in the man cave, starring at MA-DEUCE, and not being able to mount these WWW's.I see Philips captives sent a message that he should be back soon.Wondering what there doing to our poor fella?

CDNRatMan

Never took the fender off, did the moulding in 2 sections because of the area behind the forks is not visible, and at present I can not lift the front of the bike.

PC haqte to say it but I kind of like the alien PC because he is really a nice and cool person.......

Drift1

RATMAN,did you have to pull the front tire to take the fender off?
Man,I can't wait for the Aliens to get done with their experiment on Philip. It's kinda weird with him missing and all ???

Troll I am waiting for the holiday season to be over so I can go and pster my welder some more becuase I think I have the adaptor figured out. If not when I am at the bike show in Toronto I'll look for a lift like yours in your pictures. With a lift it would make cleaning the rear wheel a breeze, and so easy to just be in one place to do it.

PC if that is really you then stay if it is an alien then bring back a nice version of PC we can live with that too......a nice PC ...mmmm

no because you have not been yourself, we want to know when the earth was invaded and what they did to you and were you really are, the real PC is missing and you are not him.......

Remember, you asked for this! ;D

Troll

440 RoadRunner....nice choice. I had a friend with a Hemi Charger, circa 1968...beast of a car. Back in the good old days when you could fill a 20 gallon tank for $10...I had a '58 DeSoto firedome convertable...392 cid. Fast, but nothing like the Charger. Sorry about the whitewall jab. I had whitewalls on one of my ElectraGlides....pita to keep clean, so when they wore out, black walls! Must be pretty easy to clean the tire with the fender off and the jack adapter you made....

Recovering H-D owner...W-650 Cafe' No excuses...Ride it or sell it to someone who will!

See, here's the thing.......I'm still young and resilient.......

CDNRatMan

Yes Troll hammered me good already, 1973 I was stationed at my first duty station and making a huge salary compared to the lads in the  steel mill or INCO plant. So I had my 1973 Plymouth Road Runner, 440, 4 barrel, 4 speed car. Then bought my 1973 Honda orange in colour, it was a really nice ride, fast and nimble in the corners, then Kawasaki came out with their 900cc.......and life too another turn. !974 spring and off I went to the Winter Warfare School for 2 years.......oh well......

PC has been nice I am now losing sleep and am worried he has strained himself really bad........

Drift1

Well keeping that image paid off for you, that's for sure......1973? wow,......never mind.....TROLL ribbed you pretty good already, and he was smooth about it.

But just remember....I WAS NICE!

CDNRatMan

;)  Ah yes but my time will come .......and Troll does it so innocently, you just don't expect it and WHAM he drops a load on you....

how such a gentle quiet gentle soul who likes like Father Time or Christmas can do that to someone...questionable.....

GPS is not to get you THERE but rather to get you home from THERE

pcarrell

HA!  How do you like that!  I kept my Christmas promise and was nice to you, but my buddy Troll had my back!

CDNRatMan

oh Difter1 I am going to answer you once I get that knife out of my back...it feels really deep, never thought I would be knifed by that kindly, gentle, caring, Grandfather  like figure Troll like that .....but to be thrown under the bus like that. I throw myself on th mercies of the court your Worship Troll, I did not find time to clean the WW's prior to parking it, and it is my fault because I let the winter creep up on me. As soon as I can wash them and clean them outside I'll get right on the SIR. SORRY SIR.

Ok Drifter1, back many years ago I had a 1973 550 four Honda and they had a moulding in chrome around the tank, and I hated it because I never have like a lot of chrome. Had a friend who's dad was a body person, and he told me of the black stuff and he got some for me from a body shop. I have always kept that info in the back of the mind. About 5 years ago I had a Metals Tech build me some hoods for my fish tanks and I installed cold cathode lighting.....this is before LED's were out. I used them to simulate night and day with the blue colour,.....any way around the edges of the aluminum hoods I used the body moulding from Canadian Tire.
When I bought my Drifter, I kept looking at the gas tank and it just did not look right the edges seemed like they were missing something, either pin stripping or something...so decided to try the moulding and see what it looked like and then just decided the fenders could be done also and see what happens. The really good part of the whole thing is this moulding comes in a variety of colours, gold, chrome, black, silver, and red. Now if you decide after a couple of months you don't like itthen you simple peel it off.  Take some solvent that will not harm the finsih and clean the small amount of glue off the edges, bingo ...done back to original. Now seeing as I can not paint a straight line this was the cheapest and easiest way to give it a finished look. I kind of am getting to like it
