speedometer issues

Cheap fixes are the best.

 it seems an incorrectly fitted font axle had flared the bush that marries the axle to the speedo drive,..was able to tap it flat ,,and now it connects again

I broke two speedo cables this yr.  Chief reccomended i use a nomad cable. It doesnt have the offset at the bottom before it connects at the bottom.. which is whete mine broke both times.

Hmmm, didn't know that!

If the cable is broke your turn signals wont turn off.  Not sure what the clock is.

Sure it's not the cable?  That would be the weakest link, and with the clock working.......

Could be the gear on the end of the cable I suppose.

hello all
the speedometer on my 99 1500 drifter has ceased speedometering.everything on the clock works but the speedo .ive ascertained that the problem is in the gauge.
has anyone else ever had this problem--can it be repaired?.
hope someone can advise here, thanks ---tony in oz
