Buying the manual saved me much hair pulling. I got a paper version from a guy here in OH. He must collect them. An electronic version would be the way to go. If I had a printer and pc setup it would be great. I have a tablet that I tether to my mobile phone. Im super cheap. But being able to print off the sheets for the project your working on sure would be sweet.

Thanks! I ended up getting the pdf at repairitmanuals.com.  It's not a crooked photocopied version, but a nice, clean indexed pdf.  Now I have gobs of stuff to learn!

Personally, I use paypal whenever possible. Also, I use Paypal business services as the payment processor for our stores. We've never had a problem. Paypal has a new CEO who has pledged to resolve some of the problems others have had. You don't have to have a paypal account to pay with paypal anymore. They act as a payment gateway.... and every store has to have one of those nowadays.

I have also bought and sold products on ebay for many years with very few problems and all those problems were resolved in my favor.
For the manual... look on Amazon. You can still buy one from KAw... and, any year will work 2001 and newer. 1999 and 2000 will be a bit different.

Anyone know of a service manual source for a 2001 1500?  I really want to avoid FleaBay if I can.  Not my favorite place to buy something (mainly due to having to use PayPal).

Personally, I use both the Kawasaki manual and the Clymer manual. I look in the Clymer first... you might want to have a look at that one until you can find a kaw manual.

Look on the web site in the accessories area... no free manuals I don't believe, but other sources and free download of OWNER manuals... from Kaw...

I don't know of any free downloads like you mentioned, but they are not that expensive to buy.

Ebay is probably your best bet.  I've purchased several manuals over the years for my 800 and also my son's suzuki and a couple quads.  I recently bought an electronic version that was really done well from a seller called "green-manuals".

I saw one for as cheap as $5, but don't know anything about it - I'd personally recommend the green-manual, because of personal experience.

Paper copies are available sometimes too.

Hey all and Morning ( Depending on where you live) I have one question that I hope someone can answer. I purchased a 1999 1500 Drifter the other day with 7500 miles on her. Of course NO manual. I have owned Vulcans for yrs and would not Change. Im looking for a free download of a service manual with specs. Thanks to everyone for their imput to this forum.
