Gas was more prevelent around 1913. And up until prohibition most internal combustion engines ran n ethanol. Oddly enough, after they repealed prohibition they had already started moving away from using ethanol, as the Rockafellers had increased the production  of oil products consequently giving them more gasoline which was a by product  of oil refining. After they distilled off the gas, they used those leftovers for diesel as they still do today.

Actually, a rubber crutch would be pretty funny!  Maybe not so much for the guy using it, but..........

I think so, but then you'd probably just have to ask 49 since he remembers when these were new! ;D

The front wheel friction brake is interesting. Its a looker of a machine. These ran on ethanol correct?
