Thanks for the info. I know there is a way to do this. Just need to do more investigation. My 750 Vulcan has a gas gauge, but a 3.5 gallon tank. There is always a way..... the path less taken. The more I am in China, the more I realize the creativity of the USA!

I will have to look at the 800 to see how difficult it would be to change out the knob. I can't help you with the change out to electronic. I can tell you the tanks are a different size and shape, so I suspect it would not be an easy transition.

Hello from Cruzrjo. Part time Milwaukee, WI, part time Qingdao, China!!! Commuting is a killer.
I have a 2005 Drifter 800 with a busted odometer reset knob. What I would like to know is: Is it easy to replace the reset knob (mainly used for fuel accountability) or can I put on a 1500 gauge cluster and install a sending unit in the gas tank for for fuel accountability (which is really what I would like to do)?

Thanks,
cruzrjo

2nd idea:
Can I replace the gas tank on the 800 with a gas tank from a 1500 which already has a fuel sending unit in it?
