My plates stick on occasion, but i have made it my normal startup routine in the morning (after it has been left in gear overnight or a day or two), is turn on the key, wait for the fuel system to pressurize, while that is happening, I pull in the clutch , and rock the bike backward and you will feel it "bump"against the gears, gently bumping it once or twice frees it up.

It takes just a second or 2(about as long as the fuel system to pressurize), but when you hit the starter, there is no lurching, and you release the clutch and off you go...

And since you are doing it on a non running engine, the force exerted on the plates/gear train is generated by your legs, and has to be less than the starter, or running engine..

I  started it in nuetral as usual pulled clutch in and shifted to 1st gear it lunged and stalled .

That's actually kinda common.  It's the clutch plates sticking together.  The easy fix is to just give the clutch a couple of squeezes before you hold it in and hit the starter.  After a while it becomes a habit you don't even notice, and the problem is never to be seen again.

The Fix: Go for a ride (oh darn) This fogging of the oil sight glass window is especially common when weather turns cold among riders who travel short distances. The engine (oil) doesn't get fully up to temperature so the sight glass fogs (just like when you and the S.O. produce all that heat in the back seat on a chilly night). Once fogged it may take a couple of nice long rides to drive the moisture out from between the double paned glass.

Did you happen to wash your bike shortly before noticing the cloudy site-glass? It might have forced water in someplace; I would do an oil change and see if it changes. As to the oil filter, I always use the Kaw filter; figure if they designed it to protect their engines I'll use it. Nothing against other oil (or air, for that matter)filters. As to the clutch not releasing, if you start it in gear,(with the side-stand up) it released the clutch plates; I got in the habit of doing that with my Harley; way easier on internals.

When do we get to see some pics of your bike?

got it in march 4000mile  now it has 6500 miles clean window till recent . no major coolant loss . not much moisture in oil only cloudy window noticed it when my clutch did not release after setting for 4 days . 20 yr diesel tech I know what moisture does to rods ( not to sure on bikes but I want to stop it before I  damage it). just lookin for anypoint were a very small amout of coolant can pass to oil that is common to a cow .also not to side track but i always do the recall for 03's isit just an oil filter if so do i need to buy it or can i get a k&n 204.

How is the coolant level; is it low? When I bought my 1500, it had the same problem. It was low miles, had been parked for quite a while. I loosened the drain plug until it started to drip; no water. (I did this with the engine cold so the oil and water would separate) I tightened the plug, took it for a ride to warm it up, changed the oil and filter, end of problem. I think it was just condensation from sitting so long. Try that, if there is water when you loosen the drain plug, you might wart to look further into the problem. Good luck with it, keep us posted.
