I had that on my 1973 Honda CB 450 and it was wired wrong by design; I'd wanted the horn, got dislexic and pushed the starter button.  In the Honda's case, the motor engaged, broke its chain to the crank, wound the chain up on its sprocket and ate a large whole in one of the cases, draining the bike's oil all over the side of the bike.
It was night and I was cresting a hi speed highway overpass.  All I felt was the front suspension bottom and spring back.  A bit disturbing at 70 but it was over before I had time to react; didn't know what had happened.
Now, in a turn, things might have gotten inverted.
You really want to take care of it right away.

Sounds like a short... better get on that asap. I've not heard of this from a drifter. I'd start at the switch and work through the system looking for problems.

Am having trouble with my starter trying to engage while going down the road. Any one else dealt with this, any help greatly appreciated.
