Hey Cheif,  Thanks for the great info/instructions for uploading. I've been pretty busy since I posted for some help,and just now got to reading replies. Thanks very much,and I will see what I can do with the great info some time soon.thanks again, Peter

Ok... for the avatar you need a small file - it should be a small JPG or gif pic.  The one I uploaded was about 256K. Go to your profile (just click on your name in this post).

- Click on Forum Profile Information.

- Select I will upload my own picture

- Hit the button to browse/choose your file - browse on your computer to find the pic you want. Again, small jpg or gif file.

- Once you select the file  - go to the bottom of the screen and UPDATE Profile. IT should be in there.

I just added one to your profile (a jpg) as a test.

GALLERY:

You have to go out to the web site and click on PIC GALLERies...

You have to register separately for this. Log in to the picture galleries.

At the top of the page it says to UPLOAD Photos - Click on that.

The upper portion of the page provides you with some information... your user name, how much disk space you have, the type of images allowed, max file size and how many images you have in your queue.

Under that is the UPLOAD PHOTO section.

First block is for the category. If you are setting up a gallery - MEMBER GALLERIES is the place... You can click the drop down to see the various categories available for photos.

If you already have an album you want to add to... select that in the next box...

Then go and select the photo - it will browse your computer for the photo - there are 5 boxes... you can upload 5 at a time.

Put in details etc. Then upload/submit....

Based upon the size and number of photos and your bandwidth it can take a while for the process to finish. Be patient. If you move off the screen you will kill the upload. If the upload fails the system will tell you. Once it completes you have to approve the uploads and go from there. Follow the instructions.

Be patient - uploads are a lot slower than downloads.

That should do it.

Chief, well I would like to put one that displays when I post,or reply to the left of my post as identifier as most everyone else does. I guess I would also like to start an album as some members do. I have posted pic in classified for item I have for sale,am registered etc.,and as I said,the pix I am trying to use seem to be uploadingthen when I look for them in album,it has nothing there. No big deal,I'm much for showing off anyway,just feeling stupid for not being able.

Have tried a couple of times to post some pictures of my Drifter, and can't seem to get the task done. They seem to up load, but not able to find them anywhere. Waaas up CHIEF? Thanks.
