Thanks!! The kid that services my bike got the bar straightened out---probably not hold up as well if it fell again-but until I can replace---It doesn't look too bad...

This guy, Ted makes and sells a lot of parts he engineered just for Drifters. Here is his current listing for black guard bars for 1500s...

Maybe if you wrote to him, you could work a deal for just the rear ones..He sometimes sells them separately.

All seems to be well, shop checked it out and frame is OK. the crash bar needs to be replaced but I'm having a hard time finding a black one? And I assume I will have to buy a set---

Lesson learned-the hard way (is there any other way?)...never park bike anyplace, but UP the driveway...

Really sorry to hear that; at least you weren't on it; still sucks to have it happen, though. Good luck getting it road-worthy; like Troll says, the frame is likely ok, but still get it checked by a professional. Not sure how your insurance company works down there, but DON'T sign off on the work until you have ridden it and feel confident in the repair. My son was in an accident, insurance pain the repairs, repair shop tried to get him to sign off right away, he said NO. Good thing, frame was mis-aligned; still fighting with them (and the insurance provider) to get it done right.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Regards and such,

Wow, very sorry to hear that!  Well if it is of any consolation, at least you were not on it. I have had 2 friends hit from behind at stoplights.  One was just returning from the dealer after buying the bike.

Don't do anything until after the police and your insurance get a look. Personally, I would have not even moved it until investigation by the authorities is completed. Take LOTS of pictures! The frame is probably not bent, but you need checking done. Let your insurance company pay for it.

it was a "Drive-By"...I come out to park it properly inside my garage and it's laying on it's side!!
The crashbar on the side facing the road is totally bent forward the support that screws it onto the frame is completely cracked off (it looks like someone intentionally hit my bike??) Anyway---I'm therefore looking for a replacement rear crashbar in the black color.  Any website suggestions? I'm also concerned that the impact may have actually bent the frame...who would be able to actually tell? any bike shop or the KAWA dealership service guys specifically? I'm actually concerned about riding it without having it looked at...the crashbars on the opposite side of the impact actually kept it from any visible damage on the side that hit the floor...but still...I'm so pissed...!  Any suggestions would be really appreciated guys...
