OK, so I'll mix it up a little.......

I didn't care for the Corbin 2up.  Felt like I was riding a wooden park bench.  Guess I've got a tender butt!  Matter of fact, I took the factory optional Fire & Steel seat (I know, Corbin foam) and hogged it out a bit and added gel pads for both the rider and passenger.    Once I reattached the cover you'd never know I did a thing.....until you sit on it.  Now my wife and I can ride all day in total comfort!

I had the stock solo, got the 2-up stocker because my Corbin was delayed and it was cheap... now, I would recommend a Corbin to anyone wanting an awesome looking seat for their ride as well as a comfortable one!!!

But comfort again is up to the rider?!?  My GF complains about the seat after 100 miles or so and wants a break (she also has back problems)... My portion of the seat is perfectly contoured and has given me almost no discomfort.

(I still have the 2-up seat if you'd like to try it... It's from a '99 and had a tear in it that i repaired and I also have the back rail for it... You will need the kit from Kawi to install any of the 2-up seats)

Comfort is a personal thing... I have a Corbin two-up... the brown one on the seat page. I love it. These seats, because of the way they are secured, tend to push the passenger forward.

There are very few choices for seats.

Thanks for the link.  I've looked over the parts schematic for a tandem seat.  Do most owners seem to find the stock tandem seat to be comfortable, for both driver and passenger?

Hello -- Newbie here.  I've been riding standards and sportbikes for decades, but, due to rotten knee and hip joints, I'm considering a metric cruiser. I'm 59 yr. old, and am 6'0" tall. I've always loved the Drifters style and Kawasaki engineering.  I've found a well maintained, low mileage 2005 1500.  It has the solo seat.  I've read some posts here, but am still unclear on a few items.

I've seen a tandem seat on some Drifters.  Is that an OEM item,  will it fit the '05 model, and what brackets are required?  Also, is it comfortable for both driver and passenger?  Remember, seating and riding position is a big deal with my next bike.  I've looked at photos of Drifters with tandem seats, and it appears the passenger footpegs are attached to the swingarm.  Is that correct?  That doesn't seem like a good idea.

I hope I've posted this in the right place.  And please, if the 1500 sounds as if it may not be the right bike for me, please say so.  Thanks for your help.
