Have you ever reworked the master and slave cylinders?

Mine does something similar. Coming down to first on decel it doesn't want to shift into first... especially setting still. I usually downshift while stopping, then give it a bit of throttle while gently releasing the clutch a bit to ensure its actually in first.
I figure mine is a bent shift fork... result of my heavy boots and over enthusiastic shifting! I've been too lazy to tear everything apart to fix that. I haven't done the master cylinder yet either, so will do that this winter.

Thanks for the info.  I looked a the lever adjustment and it seems to look ok.  Any other ideas from anybody would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Check the lever adjustment on the handlebar. If the clutch is not fully disengaging, it will make shifting difficult. Since you were pulling and pushing the bike, it's pretty easy to have changed the adjustment, especially if you pulled on the clutch lever while you were loading the bike. Are you going to Rod's tonight for "Bike Night"?

Hi All!

All of the sudden I am having issues shifting into 1st gear.  From neutral it doesnt want to go into 1st really easy.  Once I get the bike moving it upshifts and downshifts just fine until I go from 2nd to 1st or Neutral to 1st.  When down shifting from 2nd it almost always just goes to Neutral and I have a heck of a time getting it to go into 1st.  It worked fine until my rear tire went flat and when I was trying to pull it on and off trailer I noticed the issue starting.  I now have a new rear tire on and it still is happening.  Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!
