Lots of nice places to ride around here, but living in the same place for too long will dull your sense of what's really good. This area is called the coulee region, which really means there are lots of small hills and hidden valleys. It's not like the canyons of California, but it's not like the flat desolation (sorry) of Kansas.... Here is an example of the kind of road I'm talking about. It's called the Mindoro Cut...you can google it..Lots of ups, downs, tight turns...and trucks use lower gear warnings!

Wow hard to believe thats around here. I looked it up and say some youtube videos, sweet curves. I am going to save that one after i have done 2000 miles on my bike by then i should be a better rider and will be going for The cut. I am at  slightly over a 1000 miles since beginning of july. Maybe by sept!!!!!! Something to definitely look forward to.

Thank you chief. I will definitely stick around I have learn sooo much from this forum. I did chain research from here and so many other things here and there plus the info you all find is amazing. I will post some pictures. I also have already been doing a few mods too, mainly by info here, the first one was replacing my mirrors they were cool and sleek looking but i couldn't see worth anything. So I went with bigger mirrors, it feels much safer plus i still got cool ones too lol

Well gentlemen, since drifters are hard to find near me and i wanted to practice riding this summer, i postponed getting the drifter and got a older vulcan 800 instead. Troll had brought up about getting a cheaper bike to start with then get what i want which turns out would be more practical for me. The good thing is since it is a vulcan 800 I can still learn alot for all of you since design is much the same internally. plus after learning I will get a 1500 drifter at that time. For now I have been having a blast Riding my 800. I have been on some great riding from scandia MN to La crosse WI. Being on a motorcycle some how makes the world a little more beautiful
