Marbles and Idling

I marbled my 1500 at first, idle sucked even after adjusting. I pulled the marbles then blocked off entirely. Sucked even worse, Unblocked, runs like it did before, will live with the pop and flames. I figure it to be the lesser of all evils. I have to admit though most my problems are due to my power commander and hypercharger.

Had the same problem I blocked mine off no difference in the idel until I  I added the pipes  she would not idle cold.  I have been using the choke more and as soon as she is warm no problem. Also I'm still playing with the tuning of my cobra fuel management system. I'ts still a little rich which my effect the the final idle speed.

this a arkward question what is marbling?
Also on the 800's the correct gap on the valves clearances
are these set hot or cold ?

No, 800 is a different animal and I have little direct knowledge of the mods associated with them.

Thanks, I know enough about the 800 to be dangerous...

Chief ....are we talking(dangerous) because they(marbles) may break?
or is it something else about this modification on the 800.

You have an 800 or 1500? The 1500 has an idle adjustment knob on the right side.

Both bikes have the idle adjuster screw there, just a FYI.

I didn't put the pipes on.  The bike came that way.  I'll consult my manual and make sure everything is tied up right.

This isn't a big deal at all.  I just thought it was kinda strange.  I can bump the idle easily.  Shoot, I may just leave it.  It's not bad at all.

OK, I have aftermarket pipes, so I marbled my engine.  ( http://www.gadgetjq.com/smogstuffremove.htm )  The pop is gone (YES!!!), but now I'm idling lower.  I was a bit high, and now I might be a touch low, but not bad.

For those of you that marbled your engines, did you have to adjust the idle, or not?  Just wondering if this is normal.

You might have to.  Make sure you capped all the vacuum lines off when you removed the smog stuff.
