Here's a pic of my bike/bags:

Master Gates

when i bought mine, it already had the scootworks ones on it.  They are quite substantial, and can be pretty easily removed leaving only part of the bracket attached to the frame.  I really like them.  I also have a single seat and no plans to ever carry a passenger on my drifter.

They also have a driver backrest and luggage rack that mounts to their mounting system (which I just ordered)  They apparently fabricate these pieces only when they are ordered....I ordered mine two weeks ago and have not gotten them in yet - according to them they are having major problems with their powdercoating system.  It also took a few emails to convince them that I already had their mounts....they werent goint to complete the order as their luggage rack and driver backrest only work if you already have the saddlebag mounts and they had no record of me ordering their mounts

i just fabricated a set for my buddies 800 drifter for under 30 bucks and he loves them. he has a two up seat and they hook to existing bolts. i just got aluminum flat stock from ruralking its 2inch wide by 3/16 thick.i will try to get some pics up of how i did it and how it looks

I've got the Scootworks setup on my '06. Love it! 5 small, short bolts to mount each bag/bracket, I can put them on or take them off in about 5 min. I've got the single seat and got this system wanting to go with their backrest too. Haven't got it yet tho. I put on the Kawasaki jumbo bags (quarterround) cause they match the contour of the rear fender pretty well. Still like the looks of the bike better w/o bags, but it's sure nicer to be able to carry something once! Greg

Good looking set-up..........

I put the scootwerks mounts on my gf's drifter also got saddlebags from ebay for $35 they work awesome!

The scootworks mounts attach to the frame but look kind of heavy. I think I will go with the seat mounts...Thanks for your input pcarrell.......by the way, what size are your bags?

pcarrell

I have the Fire & Steel mounts and they work great, both solo & 2up.  If the other mounts you're looking at mount to the fender, as the fender goes up and down, it'll shake your stuff up good.  Also, the fenders are plastic, so they won't take very much weight without cracking.  I suppose you could reinforce it, but your stuff still gets shaken to death.

Does anyone have the scootworks saddlebag mounting kit? If so how do you like it? I'm trying to decide weather to go with them or get the kawasaki ones that mount off the seat. Also when used with a two up seat does the passenger have enough leg room?..........Thanks
