Winter work on your Drifter....

Gonna pull off the driveshaft and change the rubber boot, drive oli, and grease the driveshaft as well. I have to repair my rear fender after a bolt broke caught it and ripped a big crack in it
Other than that, might do the air filter mod to let it breath a bit more.

Haw-Haw! Funny how our mouths can get us in all kinds of trouble with the other half; a good decision, though; hide grows back; paint doesn't!!

not to worry....on my trip on route 66 i pulled into the motel parking lot space and she pulled in beside me.....ok now comes the funny part...she stops and  losses her balance,,,,of course towards me on my drifter.....my options were limited....save wife from falling...or catch her bike from hitting mine.......so with not alot of grace i leaned over my handle bars as for as i could....caught her bike in time.....but the wife hit the pavement...she was not impressed with my decision making in her time of crisis.....but my comment that she had more padding than the bikes do.....put me a  another level.........sleeping outside with my bike is not all bad......oh yea...no damage to either bike.

What do all you fellow Drifter rider out there in Drifter-land have planned for your winter down-time?(provided you live where the climate dictates down-time)

I will be pulling the fuel tank on my Drifter 1500 for re-paint due to an unfortunate incident this September:
I pulled my Harley (yeah, yeah, I know, why a Harley, what can I say) into the garage beside my Drifter, put the side-stand down, then noticed a small piece of chain laying on the floor between the bikes (yeah, yeah, I know, keep da' shop CLEAN!) reached down and flipped the chain forward away from my side-stand. So far, so good. Then, when I pulled my foot back, my pant cuff hooked the heel-tab on the side-stand and pulled it back without my noticing. Need I say more. When I let the weight of the bike down on the side-stand (which was no longer where it should be) "Crunch!" the Harley (and me) landed on the Drifter.    Nice little dent and scratch in the right side of the fuel tank; I felt like jabbing myself in the eye with a pencil just to take my mind off it!!!    So, needless to say, off with the tank and on with some new paint. At least it wasn't any worse.
