I've been running around with an immense set of generic bags for 11 years.  They literally hang off of a U shaped steel band that jams under the seat into the pipe frame.  They are not attached at the bottom.  Then I throw a duffel over the back seat.  The duffel has a sectioned milk crate in it so that an L is formed and I lean back against that!  Works great.

Has anyone heard of, or installed these bags. I wonder how big of a bag you can put on a 1500 Drifter? Pics? They also sell a unique saddlebag braket. It looks like a regular rail attached bracket with a 90 degree platform on the bottom to support the bag and keep it off the pipes. I think these bags are Dutch, but they do have a distributor here in the states, IL I think. Here is the site www.mo-tique.com.
