When I work out how to get the photos off my phone I will post the photos ( may have more time tomorrow), as I have fitted a rack off a victory motor bike, to my drifter 800,
A man was leaving a convenience store with his morning coffee when he
noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery.
A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50
feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary man
walking a dog on a leash. Behind him, a short distance back, were about
200 men walking single file.
The man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the man
walking the dog and said, "I am so sorry for your loss, and I know now is a
bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"
"My wife's."
"What happened to her?"
The man replied, "My dog attacked and killed her."
He inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?"
The man answered, "My mother-in-law. She was
trying to help my wife when the dog turned on her."
A poignant and thoughtful moment of silence passed between the two men.
"Can I borrow the dog?"
(pause)The sludge that you talk about is the oil braking down, ( think how many times the spring will go up and down in the forks, ) + if you had a seal go it may take in water on the fork seal, what I have used in the past was a small bit of petrol, shake the forks up and down while pushing the tube in and out, leave to drain the crap out from the tube, then get a rag and wrap it around a stick then use that to clean it out, then put it back together, and ride it.
Hi Rockinrolling, could you please tell me the make of the crash bars fitted to your bike as I have a set fitted to mine and have no idea what make they are
Go to ebay and type in ( Motorcycle Audio USB SD FM Radio Stereo Amplifier Speaker MP3 Anti-theft Alarm, cost £21.75)
This is what I have on my bike, plays fm radio, and you can put a sd card in and play your music, but what I done was fitted a 3.5mm stereo plug in where the speedo holder is , then fitted a small set of crash helmet speakers in my helmet, with a small off/on switch inline, and it can be heard at 70ish
, when riding the bike, Will get some photos do for you to see.
Thank you all for the info.
I have found only 1 plaice selling the rear sprocket ( 38 tooth
) for the drifter in the uk for £25. so will get it ordered , how many links would I have to take out? .
Changed the front sprocket on the bike today, took the 17 tooth off and fitted a 18 tooth one on, not had time to try it, to see the difference yet. and cleaned, it as we are in winter it gets dark about 3.30/4.00pm
That is very neat, looks the part.
Buy it and it and make it fit.
Dam that looks very smart
,
What I done was bolted the seat to a steel plate , then used the 2 holes in the cross bar that is under the seat, and bolted it to the plate, with a bar under the cross bar as well, and yes I did cut the long bolts down.
Will sort it out on the week end, as it is dark when I go to work, and dark when I get home on week days.

I just sent the last of the tank bibs I had to the UK for a rider over there.
The bib looks great on the tank, with the springer seat that I fitted as well
Lucky you it is damp and cold in the uk, but it is not raining yet ,
I had my 800 once showing 99 +mph as if you go over 100 mph you will have a ban if you are caught by the cops and the bike gets taken off you:(, for 6-12 months), so no one says that they go any faster, unless it was a private road
, even guys on sport bikes only say 99+ mph, on the main road. as some of the bike sites do get checked in the uk.
When i bought my drifter 800 I found that the floor boards scraped very easy, but I did have a Honda nc700x and had the side stand scraping the floor once, but I had fitted one of the bigfoot things on the stand, now I think ahead a bit more.
I drive a hgv class 1 lorry ( 40 tonne ) from my plaice of work, to other plaices, and love the job, been doing it for 30 years, been all over the uk doing delivery's.
I don't drink beer, i only
drink Tea
I made one out of plastic will post what it looks like when I down load the photos.
Forget about the speedo cable as the 1500 does not have one,
I have the 800 and when I take out the screw, I then slide it forward, as there is a tab that fits in a slot in the front, raise it up slowly and disconnect the speedo cable, not sure about the 1500 but the 800 has 2 plugs that you disconnect under the speedo housing that you are lifting up, Love the seat
When I picked my bike up it was only 175 miles away, and due to strikes on British rail and waiting for the next train it took me 11 hours to get to Birmingham uk , on the way home it only took 2 1/2 to get home, left at 6am got home at 8.30pm, still the ride home was nice.
Thanks all for the welcome, picked it up yesterday and rode it home , 231ks, it done more mileage than it had done in a few years, stopped for petrol , and when I was walking back to the bike I heard 2 guys talking one of the said" look over there a old Indian, some one has good taste,
Only wish I had bought it years ago when I had the chance now to start work on it give it a good service, clean up the frame, and have bought chrome flasher covers before I picked up the bike, The long buying slope has started
even though I told the wife that it needs nothing doing,
her reply was it will want stuff.
