My 1500J is 663. It is a 1999 but was Kawasaki's own display bike so it wasn't sold and registered until 2002 here in New Zealand.

Drool, drool.... very nice
When I get "Aren't motorcycles dangerous"?
I reply that "I came into this world bloody, kicking, and screaming. I probably will go out the same way."
Hi John,
Ha! I lived in West Kobe, just down the road from the Akashi Kawasaki factory for almost 20 years, rode bikes every day and never ever saw a Drifter! I would have brought one home with me. I'm loving my 1500.
Welcome aboard.
Good luck with the JCI Sharken.

Thanks so much for posting this photo.
I appreciate the fact that you had to remove it from your Drifter to do this for me
Yes,the previous owner must have replaced them.
Are the std shocks any good? Is it worth picking up a set as I have always thought mine rode a little hard compared to my previous BMWs
Regards,

Yes I was expecting them mounted on the top.
They look stock with 4 settings for preload.
They are black on top and chrome on the bottom with no exposed spring.
Could someone please post a photo of their stock shock for me please

I have read that the adjustable rear shocks on 1500 Drifters also have air valves. I looked on my 1500 99J model and I can't find any air valves. Did they come on later models?

Quote from: pcarrell on October 04, 2016, 10:08:04 AMI been meaning to do just that.I just took the stock one off, flipped it over and painted it semi-gloss black. Stuck it back on and I thought it looked great. Total cost, free with an old can of spray paint I had laying around. Total time, about an hour for the paint to dry.
