Yeah, me too!
Not to mention the huge amount of bucks needed for the new Indian Chief...
Welcome aboard and nice catch!
As you'll see, this Forum is a great source of good ideas, for your next mods.
That bike is GORGEOUS!
But, all in all, it looks like Polaris has stolen the vintage looking idea right from our Drifters!

First of all, welcome aboard!
As you will notice, this Forum is a great source of informations for our scoots.
That said, let me add my own advice: the '99 1500 Drifter has got the same parts of the '99 800 one, even though that's actually limited to the front fork only (tyre and handlebar plus front light, included).
Just my 2 cents...
Man, that scoot is GORGEOUS!
As a 800 Drifter owner too, I can't wait to see your blog post on her!
That's a huge source of great ideas to copy!

I faced that problem some years ago, as ma-deuce is a 1999er.
So, I went for the "cheap chinese replacements", because I couldn't actually spend that huge amount of money.
I hope that your pocket is bigger...
Yeah, as far as I know, someone else on this Forum has already swapped a VN 1600 for the 1500.
But I can't remember who!
What Bucko said + 1.
I've had that kind of problem, a couple of times and each time it sorted out that the battery was in bad conditions: so, I just replaced it and everything went great...
WOW! Congrats, Troll.
Your goal just adds one more point to the Kawa's engines well known reliability.
Welcome aboard!
Pics, please...
Really sad story, Seedman!
Ownin' ma-deuce since 1999, I can understand how you feel for no longer being able to ride your beautiful scoot...
I hope you get well soon!
I never had such an issue, BUT my '99 Drifter already faced that loosenin' from the kickstand's bolt and bolthole: it's finished that a local shop fixed it all, by redoing a new bolthole together with a new bolt...
Strange...
I just clicked on the link you've posted and that works, as I can see each and every pic.
I've got a 800 Drifter that I bought in 1999 and she came with the "Kawasaki Drifter" tank badges on.
Never seen those "Vulcan Drifter" badges.
Benvenuto!
I'm an italian proud owner of a 1999 Drifter 800, and I live in Pescara (Abruzzo).
Post some pics of your beauty, asap...
As Troll said, there are no Drifters with the Indian headdress, made by Kawa.
Those are all aftermarket, added by each owner.
It's very frustrating to face problems that seem like havin' no way out, while you'd like to jump on your scoot and just go riding...
Keep on tryin'!
Welcome aboard, ya european bro, from an italian old lad!
Please, post your beauty's pics, asap!
I'd really like to get the set with the gloss black painted back (that's the 20241221_104952.jpg file you've attached).
As I live in Italy, I could send you the amount of money needed for the postal shipping, if it's ok for you.
Let me know, thanx.
53Indian, maybe that exhaust is from the japanise "Webike" (see: japan-webike.com): I've seen some like that, years ago, when I was lookin' for a 2-1 ehaust sistem with fishtail.
VFN8, sorry for hijackin' your post...
It happened to me too, to see a bobberized Drifter a long ago, but I can't remember where or when.
And I do also remember that seemed to me a real crime!
Mmmmh... Looks like you might actually reverse it. Did you already try it?
Welcome back!
And what about your Indian? Sold it?
Just curious...
