Merry Christmas All....some how a springer front end that fits a HD,..... just doesn't seem right on a drifter however if a Girderstyle  front end was fitted it might look more "Indianish" to me....KEN.

Sounds to me like you don't realize the rear fender is bolted to the swing arm not to the frame of this bike...same as the front fender is bolted to the lower tubes...Question for you,
what kind of bike have you been riding previous to the Drifter?  I had a BMW GS and the front fender was bolted to the lower triple tree and did NOT move, same with the rear bolted to the frame...KEN.

I removed the exhaust side fender  bracket & bolt, then slotted the lower bracket so you only need to loosen that bolt to remove  the fender the next time...KEN.

General Discussion / Chrome Indian repro fender tip.
December 22, 2015, 21:54:22 PM

Hello All Riders......Just to let you know I came across one of these fender tips and installed it on my Drifter 800....It fits reasonably well for a bolt on. You might find that it sets off that plain front fender just fine, I've tried some other fender tips and this one looked the best for a repro, no point in trying to get an original for our clone bikes...Merry Christmas All....KEN.

General Discussion / Re: Windshield recommendation
July 13, 2015, 16:11:35 PM

Hello .....I used an old Harley FLH windshield I had laying around....you don't need extra mounting hardware...just what comes on  the windshield, no extra brackets. All you need to make is 1 "L" shaped bracket and a small U clamp for the handle bar...Very easy to make..the bottom just bolts right onto the lower triple tree.....KEN.

As I was looking for a pic of the crash bar I came across this pic from Drifter Riders..Mittico68 Machine

Hello All...I came across a 2001 Canadian Kawasaki price list and Vulcan series brochure:

Drifter  1500...16,199.00
Vulcan 1500...14,699.00

Drifter   800...10,499.00
Vulcan  800...  8,299.00

So you can see they were worth more than a standard Vulcan.
When I bought mine from the original owner with 6,000 Klms he said he paid over 12K for it with leather bags and an unusual front crash bar ( I haven't seen another like it)...KEN.

Hello .....The 1500 is a larger bike and heavier than the 800....just be aware....not sure what your insurance rate would be.... but here in Victoria BC Canada...there is a difference in $$$ for insurance.
Both great bikes.....KEN.

March 19, 2013, 23:46:25 PM

Just yesterday I had my Dixon zero turn on the lift.....so nice to be able to sit on a chair to work on it....I guess it would depend on the width of the wheels more than anything.....Like I have said  once you get one you will be saying why didn't I do this before!.....KEN.
