Howdy Trall, Again the front fender rail is for a Yamaha 1100 classic. The front fender on our drifters is much longer than the yamaha classic so the rear brackets on the rail cannot be directly attached to the rear mounting points on the forks. So I added a bracket extension to each side to complete the mount. I also extended the tubes of the rail to make them longer or it would look like shit. Remember Yamaha has two style of front fender rails for the 1100 classic you need to get the one that also attaches to the front of the fender.
CrshOverride, Hey man tool bag is just mounted to the light bar. It sits about 2 1/2 inches above the fender so I have had no issues.
Pics are from the Loneliest road in Nevada Hwy 50. I was just leaving Ely Nv on my way home to Las Vegas. Great ride a total of 2500 plus miles thru minn, nd, montana, northern idaho, central wash, central oregon down to Boise and then from the north border of Nv to Vegas. Helluva a ride in late Sept. Just me an my drifter.
Yup right dab in the middle of the front of the fender
If you expand the pic you will see that the upper rail bolts to the fender. That is why I chose it!
I had a few requests about the front rail on my drifter. It is a front fender rail for a 1100 Yamaha classic that I had to modify to fit the drifter.
No they are actually fishtail mufflers off of my brothers 1995 Harley Davidson FLSTN. Pretty much straight thru so good sound man!
Yup true duals gies
Yeah man my second set of tank decals. First ones were to plain. Love these alot more. Really stand out!
Just added some chrome trim to dress up the drifter
Wow man that is a nice lookin scoot. I can tell you have put some LTC into it. Very old school look which I love. Also notice the shifter, really adds alot!!!!!
49Reo, its been a while but no doubt i have been at the bar. Seely lake was always one of my favorite places to go thru on my way up to the glacier. If its north of there i am sure i made the stop. I remember a lodge somewhere where i could bring the whole family in and enjoy a beer with my burger. Montana is and always will be in my Heart. Lived in Billings and Great Falls and really found a home. In addition I am a pedal steel guitar player so I loved playing all of the country honky tonks
dakuhosu, thanx man. by the way the memorial day run you guys have is great. was there a couple of years ago. i thing it is called the red river memorial run.
PS. I tried to blow up a pic of your drifter but I guess i don't know how to do that yet
49Reo Yeah man. What a ride it is. Lived in Great Falls for 5 years and camped up there with the family a lot. But no comparison to ridin it on a bike
) as you well know.
For clarification NAPA is just an auto parts store here in the US that sells parts which also include exhaust parts.
Sorry a little long in getting back but just got back from Glacier Nat Park and then a ride to San Diego (Yeah I'm retired
) ) But the brand names include NAPA and elbow grease
) Again will post pics as soon as I can.
Been riding alot so very little time. but I will put the bike on my lift to take some pictures so you can see how I did it.
love my dual exhaust
Forgot but after the running light mod I did add visors too!
I also did this too about a year ago. Just take the sockets out of front signals and install them in the rears after you take the old sockets out. I also relocated the front signals with some old harley signal lights
Hello DK, FYI I had the same thing happen a year ago. Only 3000 miles on the bike as I had just bought it at about 2000. I did not hit anything either and the rim showed no impact. The shop I had it at believed it was a rim with a manufacturing defect. Weird for me to look at your picture as mine looked exactly the same. I was fortunate to save the tire as it was not damaged. My drifter sat in the Colorado Rockies for 3 weeks while I tried to find a used wheel. With no luck I finally had it welded. Believe it or not I rode it that way for 10,000 miles. Finally found a used rim in April of this year (a year later). Glad to hear you found a rim. Do I dare ask the cost?
Well CDD you got my interest and I just ordered the other one from J & P. Had a free shipping coupon so really a great deal. Gotta say tanx for you being the guinea pig and checking this out. hog77el
Has anyone found or modified a visor to work on the rear brake light?
I kept the stock chain on. Ordered the sprockets seperately. I run the 18/39 and love it. Live in Las Vegas so mountains all over but am very happy with the response! Also gas mileage is great too! I put over 9000 miles on this "uncruizer?" in the last 10 months. Also run a Harley 1997 Heritage Springer and gotta look into changing that too!!
Well, finally made the Bordello run here in Nevada. Great weather and great run. Gotta admit though its a bit different at each stop then what I am used too!! I guess everybody has their way of "workin for a livin".
