Title: COLD IDLE SOLENOIDS
Post by: rawv on July 09, 2011, 21:30:34 PM
Ok I'm riding a 99 1500 Drifter with 32,000 miles in which I bought last fall ...My question is in regards to the the COLD IDLE SOLENOIDS those things drive me nuts with all that noise ...it sounds like glass shards breaking I know it has been addressed  before and its been said just  live with it..man its loud...do they get louder in time and wear...what would happen if I installed new ones does anyone know...has anyone been able to fix this problem and how...I just can't believe that Kawasaki after building such a fine machine would'nt do something about this...     Thanks        Rick

Some folks have removed them when they removed the smog stuff. It does impact cold idle when they are removed.

They make a racket (I can't hear them much, thanks to the USN!! and my pipes) I haven't heard of any way to make them quieter.
