The stock air shock is 13", so it makes sence that the 440 should be 13". I ride two up with bags alot. What length works for those of you that have the 440's.
Thanks Mark
I put 13" 440's on mine... they are great IMHO...
chief:
are both the eyes of the shocks 1/2"?
will 13 1/2 shocks work or only 13"?
I think they will work, but I also think it will lift your bike that 1/2". You really don't need the lift with 440's. They work well 2-up.
CHIEF:
do you know if harley davidson 13" shocks fit the DRIFTER 1500?
THEY HAVE 1/2" HOLES
I see... I have no idea what the holes are on the shocks meant for the drifter. You might wanna have a look on the progressive site and see how he two compare.
Thanks looks like the 13" will work the best!
Mark
CHIEF,
I have been lookin @ shocks today, thinkin of upgrading to the progressive 440s w/IAS system. Was wondering if you went with the HEAVY DUTY, or STANDARD shock, and what criteria I should think about to make that choice. Also they do not seem to come with an air option (I did not see it in the specs), as our stock shocks do, should that concern me? After looking @ MODS/TIPS, think I will replace front springs @ the same time if I choose to move forward (good job on the instruction page).
Harry
I went with the standard spring. It works fine for me, but you need to consider your max loading. The HD will be stiffer which will mean a stiffer ride, solo or unloaded.
No air to deal with which is a plus for me.
Progressive has a sale in April (2010) buy a set of 440 get a set of front springs free. Check progressives web site for details.
