The Suzuki DR-Z4SM supermoto, alongside the DR-Z4S dual-sport, received significant upgrades for 2025. Fuel injection and throttle-by-wire were added to the 398cc Single, as well as a host of other new engine components, although the 5-speed transmission remains. The Z4SM also got a new steel frame and aluminum subframe and new fully adjustable KYB suspension. It comes with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System, which includes three ride modes, four traction control modes, ABS (which can be turned off at the rear), and Suzuki Easy Start. Ergonomics have been updated, and the new slim tank holds 2.3 gallons of fuel.
To test this new supermoto, we headed to Temecula, California, for a day of street riding followed by a day on the track. After getting acquainted with the machine, we were impressed by the bike's performance and handling in both riding situations, offering enough street-going capability to become your favorite canyon carver with enough track-ready attitude to keep your blood flowing.
