Title: Chrome Flex pipe for Roadhouse headers question....
Post by: Scot66 on May 08, 2011, 12:48:20 PM
I've seen in some people's pictures that they have chrome flex pipe surrounding their Roadhouse headers. Personally, I love the look and think it adds a whole lot more vintage styling and am wanting to add those to my Roadhouse system. How exactly do you do that mod and where do you get the chrome flex pipe from?

   Thanks in advance!

Hey chief, after I posted this I did some further researching and found that you could purchase the pipes and headers with those heat shields or you could purchase them separately. Since they are no longer in business I would still like to know if anyone here on the board has fab'd up any themselves, and if so, how they went about it and where they bought their tubing.

Thanks for the info. I recall someone doing that themselves, but I can't recall who and I have nothing in the mods area. I think they had to have it chromed themselves however. I will add this to the list and keep my eyes open for you. Let me know if you figure it out and we'll post it for others benefit.

Cheers.

Sounds good chief. I'll keep you posted. I also discovered that the stock Drifter fishtail exhaust tip is the same diameter as the Roadhouse pipe so it should be very easy to make an intermediary coupler to mount it to the Roadhouse.

Hi    Get a hold of George Fitzgimmons in Hampton, NJ   He sells a cool old school exhaust system that has serrated head pipe covers.  908-432-2641   I have the roadhouse on one of my drifters, but his set up would be my next choice.  Hope this helps!!   Tom

Hello Tom and thanks for your response! I really like the Roadhouse exhaust a lot and want to keep it on this bike (before I bought the the Drifter I had planned on immediately getting the Hard Krome Strippers for it as I really like the looks and sound of dual pipes, but the Roadhouse has really grown on me). I am wanting to merely "retro" it out a bit with the addition of some serrated heat shields and by adding the stock Drifter fishtail exhaust tip (both should be easy to install mods). As soon as I get all of my work caught up I'll do the mods and will document the process in case others in the future might want to do the same (and because Roadhouse is no longer in business and therefore their add-on parts are NLA). Thanks for the heads-up on George though as I contacted him and ordered one of his chrome engine guards (which I didn't know existed prior to your posting).
