
Harley-Davidson revealed the bulk of its 2024 lineup a few weeks back, but we knew there'd be more news on the Touring and CVO front to come this week. And since The Motor Company debuted its heavily reworked CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide with the new Milwaukee-Eight 121 engine and improved suspension last year, we hoped to see a trickle-down effect for some of the mainline models in 2024. Turns out our hopes were not ill-founded: Behold the 2024 Harley-Davidson Street Glide and 2024 Road Glide, both with the same styling, suspension, electronics, and infotainment upgrades we saw on those CVO bikes. The only difference is the engine: The 2024 mainline Glides are powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 117 in place of the M-8 121 mill on the CVOs.

So no variable valve timing for the new Glide powerplants, but look on the bright side: When the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-twin appeared in the Street Glide ST back in 2022, it already featured a high-performance cam and a new intake and exhaust, and this year it's been refined even further. For 2024, the rubber-mounted M-8 117 adds new liquid-cooled cylinder heads with a reshaped combustion chamber as well as a new cooling system, while lightening and enlarging the airbox even more. That all combines to make 105 hp and 130 lb.-ft. of torque (claimed), numbers that should easily satisfy most long-haul riders.

As for suspension upgrades, they essentially carry over from the CVO bikes, with a new 49mm Showa fork (with Dual Bending Valve internals) giving 4.6 inches of travel and the rear Showa shock offering 3 inches of travel (which, believe it or not, is more than the outgoing model). That shock is also adjustable for preload.
While the rest of the main chassis is unchanged, both Glides also received upgraded Brembo braking components with larger 320mm discs paired to radial-mount calipers up front and a 300mm disc out back. Along with the lighter claimed mass on both bikes, that should result in noticeably better stopping power. As a side note, all the improvements on the standard models seem to have made the ST versions of the Street and Road Glide redundant; there's no sign of them anywhere in Harley's Grand American Touring series for 2024.

The so-called "infotainment" systems on both models received a significant boost for 2024, with a massive 12.3-inch TFT color touchscreen dominating the cockpit (and replacing all the previous analog instrumentation and most switches). The operating system is called Skyline OS, but you can also access a full suite of electronic rider aids via that huge screen, with presets for Road, Sport, Rain, and Custom ride modes. The bikes both also feature lean-sensitive traction control and ABS, and—oh yes—a new 200-watt amplifier powering a pair of fairing-mounted speakers.

Then there's the all-important styling redo on the 2024 Street Glide and Road Glide models. Here, you can definitely see the resemblance to last year's CVO Glides with new design elements that have that same dynamic flow from the front fenders to the saddlebags, with reshaped fuel tanks and a redesigned one-piece saddle. Both models get tweaked fairing profiles that definitely look more modern (and offer improved air management, according to H-D) while still retaining the classic batwing and shark nose vibes. After all, why mess with success?

The 2024 Street Glide and 2024 Road Glide both carry an MSRP of $25,999 (add $850 for premium colors) and are scheduled to reach authorized Harley-Davidson dealers in January 2024.
