I'm getting ready to build a backrest for my bike (1500). What's a good height for the backrest. I want my wife to be comfortable when and if she'll ever ride with me. I'm thinking about having armrest attached to it also. Hoping my wife will ride to Durango with me. IF not her loss not mine.
Good luck on this. I have a Corbin and use their backrest. Made one for me.
I built a back rest with arm rests for my wife.
If I can attach pics I shall.
Their is one on ebay custom made asking is at $20 might be a good place to start? I took a back rest off a
suzuki c50t and it work quite well no arm rests.

JCF .....I like what I can see. Got any other views of the backrest?
I do have more pics. I'm trying to get them.
It was a serious mod. The frame was extented 8 inches. I fabricated a 1/2 inch wide slot in both sides the reinforced frame that the matching blades from the vertical back and arm rest fits (tightly) into said slots.
I can take some pics of the of the back and arm rest assembly.
I added a tour pack off of an old Harley. I had to make the brackets myself, but it wasn't too hard. It's great for distance riding and the wife loves it.
I just shot some rattle can paint on it this spring, so it's not the best. This winteer I'm covering it in leather and studs to match the bags. The bags are getting reshaped & redyed too. It's not the best pic, but click on it and it will expand.
