Title: New here
Post by: Alcanterbury on June 28, 2023, 15:29:02 PM
Hi everyone I just purchased a 99 drifter 1500 this weekend. 50k on the odometer. I'm absolutely in love with the bike. I am not new to vulcans. I owned an 800a for a while. I do have one question. There is a number etched on the instrument plate. Is that a production number? Tia

The original runs of 1999's did have a production # etched on the riser cap.

Take a picture of the number and where it is.  If its on top of the risers it is the last 4 of the VIN. That piece was special and only put on AFTER the bike was purchased.  The original owners got a presentation packet that contained the piece and a certificate of ownership. The owner could have his moniker put on it too.  I have the plate for my 99, Jewell.  It says Big Chief and #0105.  Send us the pics.
