Title: Drifter 1500 Nomad Vance&Hines conversion
Post by: Side Drifter on October 27, 2022, 12:47:57 PM
Hello all. I am very excited to have scored an excellent set of Vance & Hines dual exhaust from a Nomad. My question is , What modifications will I need to do to make them fit properly? Do I have to move the rectifier and if so what is the best relocation for this ?  I have already installed the Chucksters air intake system, now with the exhaust mod, will I need the eco management installed? If anyone has templates of brackets for this install or know anyone selling the bits needed to get the job done. Let me know. and Thanks in advanced.

I made a set of mounting brackets (a cut down version of my Nomad stock exhaust brackets) for my V&H Drifter right side pipes.  I got the cross-over head pipe from V&H.  You do have to move the rectifier to the front under the radiator (brackets are available on ebay for cheap).  the brackets are attached to the frame behind the rear floorboard mounts.  I just used 5mm longer bolts.  So far, they seem to be working well.  I will try and find the template pdf that I had designed at my fabricator and post it on here.  I'm just not sure what I did with the file.  post a picture of the pipes and I will see if the stock Nomad pipe mounts I have will work....
