Post by: what_the?! on October 19, 2022, 22:50:43 PM
hi all,
i thought i'd join up to see how and what others are doing to make their drifter unique, and i gotta say it seems a bit of a ghost town..here and online for parts.
i had envisaged some highway lights, engine crash guard, a different seat and some AM pipes..and i thought i'd look at gallery images and send the image taker a message to enquire about where they got their parts from.
but i cant see how i can do this..
im a bit flat now as i was excited to get the bike. .
any help would be really appreciated. i feel like i mightve bought a dinosaur.
cheers, tim

Welcome aboard.

Drifters were a small run for a short time. The Drifter is a unique motorcycle. Only about 100 were sold in Australia, so you have a VERY unique bike. This is why I have kept my Drifter and sold my HD and GW.

If you wanted a bike where you can pick up accessories at the local gas station... a Drifter ain't it. I know it is even harder for you.  But, we have all managed to trick out our bikes the way we want them. Have a look in the Gallery... about 3000 Drifter pics. It just takes some effort. (Hell it wasn't easy when they were actually still building Drifters.)

Answers to questions may not be immediate... But, we also have accumulated knowledge of over 20 years on the site. Do some research here, visit the various boards and read the various mods. We have some really knowledgeable people here to help as well.

Cheers.

I bought my 2002 Drifter 1500 because of this forum - many good folks with huge knowledge.
Can I also add that 4 years later I still sit in my garage and look at it? What an awesome bike both how it looks and how it rides!

Light bars are £30-40 on eBay, easy to modify.
Engine bars are expensive, around £180.
Regular VN exhausts can be made to fit easily.
Don't worry, just save searches on eBay and get notified when stuff comes on.
PicClic is also good.
