66 today... but windy and cloudy... warmed up about 20 degrees over the past week! (Mid-TN).
Guess I should have added that I am in Northern British Columbia, about 450 miles north-west of Edmonton Alberta.

You guys in Florida really like to rub it in don't you?? :P :P What is the job market like down there??? ;D
Poor !!!!! I still think if you attach that snowboard and video it you will have something their.
weekend looks great will post pics
Mark
Yeah, maybe I could get rich by selling my invention :D There isn't any snow on the ground (yippeee) so I don't need a snowboard! ;D I am ready to relocate away from the snow though. I'm thinking more around the New Mexico area.
Valemont, BC?
I have heard it's great riding out that way, hoping to make the drift in and find out.
Mark
In response to JCF, not Valemont but a little whistle-stop called Chetwynd, B.C. about 5 hours north of Valemont. Weather is up to around 0 today, so less whining on my part (LOL)
Regards and such, 49Reo 8)
Welp im back in North Carolina for the holidays :D and its around 30 sumthin plus or minus but the ol' girl still starts when its cold so i'm still riding. ;D
Cheers. D. R.
38 degrees today, foggy and rain. It did not stop me from riding to work today,Snow pants, Down vest, Skull face mask, Ski gloves and I was Off to the races. No Anneoakley My ride runs like crap. Haven't got it to the shop yet, but it runs. hope to ride tomorrow.

All you have to do is put a snow blower in the back of you truck and drive south.....when you find a place that has no idea what that is then you've found your new home :D ;D
<LOL>... I'm there now!
Annie went home to fire him up, I thought to myself: Doesnt she mean her, but if she's a she, then that would make her bike a him and her a she then...oh damn my 45 y.o. noodle has to play ketchup. gheez Im shot,. Anyway, 30's all week here in New York, Just put on a nice tan solo seat and wanna take her out for a test ride, maybe Xmas eve. -Vinny
Poor Vinny- I didn't mean to get you confused :D Don't fall apart on me now, geez I just turned 45 on Sunday and now your saying at 45 your shot...I was hoping to get a few more years in before that starts to happen ;D
Don't worry It's just a momentary lapse. Noodle still in tack at 51, here. And as long as I can remember where the key goes and how to start my ride, and how to ride. Then bring on the years I can take it. ;D
sunny and 81 degrees in florida today...
why would people live in any other place but florida!!!!
good looking women, beaches, and palm trees
you can ride your motorcycle 365 days a year
foggy, 30 degrees and the ground is white (not from snow, frost). still hope to ride today. highs around 38-42......have cold weather gear, will ride ;D
hurricanes and Alan Grayson - two reasons... <LOL>
Actually, I lived in the Orlando area for a while. I like having seasons - or at least a difference in weather. Otherwise, we'd be living in St. Thomas!
Merry Christmas.

Yeah but do you get to shovel snow and break icicles off the end of your nose?!? (LOL) ;D
Been through 3 hurricanes including Andrew, they do less damage than the knuckleheads we keep electing. Both parties have more than their fair share of them. It seem that this holiday season even though we have less, more of us our counting our blessing. Now to get back on this thred, One of mine is to live in Florida and be able to ride year around.
Mark
#1 blessing: To have my family safe, heathly, and at home for Christmas.
AAAAHHHHAAAAAHHHHAAAA
Been through several HC's myself (North Carolina, and New Orleans) - and one at sea... some are worse than others. At least you know they are coming... unlike some of the dang tornadoes up here in TN.
Cheers
Hurricane at sea,its bad enough on land.

Are you any where Avola B.C.? used to live there in the 70's
Hello; not sure where Avola is located; what major center is it located near?

Pretty cold in Cincinnati, I think it was 9 degrees F this morning.............might try to start the bike just to see if will start.............................naa, LOL
It was 0 degrees F this morning here in the beautiful booming metropolis if Ingalls, IN (otherwise known as "Hooterville")
I know I'm going to get crap for this, but sunny florida is cold lows around 28 highs in the mid 50's. This is going to last all week, global warming not here.
Mark
Oregon lows 30s, highs 40s RAIN RAIN RAIN. forecast call for sun tomorrow.... maybe I can pull the bike out for a chilling adventure... :)
Ride once for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is 5 out this morning...that wouldn't be so bad if the roads weren't covered with ice and snow. :(
OK 45 degrees and No rain Fired the black beauty up and took it for a spin. Only 12 miles .....man i have to get it on a dyno. Runs good at 59,80 and 90+... Doesn't idle for crap though. It will be running good for the Durango trip. 8)

It's this kind of talk that won't win you friends most places. In this case though, you ride a Drifter, so we'll let it slide........this time! (https://www.vulcandrifterriders.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi83.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fj319%2Fpcarrell%2FAvitars%2Fnew-year-smile.gif&hash=5ca3dc71b8ba0f24c59a7f08b970ec741714e48a)
Slide??? That's what I was doing this morning while trying to get to work! Ice everywhere :'( Am I ever going to be able to get the bike out of the garage and on the road? I started to pull into a parking space with my truck this morning and I ended up 2 spaces away! good thing nobody else was around it would have been a little messy :o. I'm starting to wish someone in Florida would find me a job so I can move ;D
Yeah, we had that nasty ice too! Very nasty indeed!
What?!?!?! I remember taking the bike out for a stroll through town on Saturday and now I wake up this morning to find everything covered in snow again????? Geezzzz... I just got all of the ice off of the drive 3 days ago >:( Will this never end?
Another beautiful sunny day in FLORIDA in the 70's.
No pitty for you people that want to live outside of FLORIDA
Quit complaning about the ice and snow and cold temps.
+++ NOBODY is making you live in the cold!!!!
Great deals on home prices in Florida.
Don't listen to him...its was 50 something in daytona beach this morning....yeah I still rode but brrr
Okay I'll bite! Home prices low.........what about decent jobs??? I don't think working at McDonalds in Florida would cut it for me! ;D ;) You can't buy bling for your bike flippin burgers! lol
yes, it was in the 50's this morning, but that was the low temp,
it will get in the 70's and sunny by noon. :-[
jobs for all, depends on your qualifications.
people, there is no need to live in the cold, unless you choose to, so do not complain about the weather
you already know it's going to be cold where you live EVERY WINTER. ???
Move to FLORIDA, RIDE YOUR drifter ALL YEAR LONG and 'NO STATE income TAX' to file in April either. ;D
Ooooooo... I like the no tax thing!!!!! ;D The feds just took another 10 bucks out of the paycheck...grrrr If I didn't have one still at home I would relocate now. But he wants to finish school here, so I guess I will hold off until he graduates.
I'll stick to Georgia. Florida is a nice place to ride to...but I get tired of riding in a straight line and at sea level the entire time. Give me the North Georgia mountain twisties...with an occasional trip up to the dragon!
I'll agree. Northern Indiana roads are straight and flat. The southern half of the state isn't too bad. Tennessee is nice too. I love the mountains and winding roads. Soooo many choices so little time ;D
OK I hooked the black beauty up to the laptop. Played around with the settings and WOW I got her running decent enough for a very good ride. The sun was out the temp was 48 degrees, NO RAIN :) And I was off. Felt good to be back in the saddle with her running allot better, put 30 miles on her today. Now I'm hoping for some more good days. with the next ten days off.
OOooooooo........SO JEALOUS :P Still have ice and snow on the streets. But with a little luck it should all be melted by Wed or Thurs. mid 20's to low 30's. That's good enough for me. Mine is running, but still a little rough, but I haven't been able to take him out and open him up yet. I still need to run the rest of the gummout through it. I've been out a couple of times this winter but not very far. Ride a little more for me! I'm starting to see buds forming on some of the maple trees so spring is just around the corner! (think happy thoughts! ;D)
We got about 9 inches of show over the weekend... largest accumulation in MANY years in this part of TN. It's a cold one for sure this year... down to 8 the other night... must be "global warming"... <LOL>
Cheers.
No Snow here in the Northwest, there was no rain today either. I gave the old girl a bath, shined her up...(Man I hate pamper females ;)). Put on my cold weather gear 42 degrees. Then took her to town, it's sooo nice when you get to show your girl off ...isn't it. Can't believe I got to ride her twice in the last three days. My wife couldn't understand why I parked the vette and rode in the cold...but then she doesn't ride. Her loss
Not too bad this week, been around 8 degrees all week, blew a heater hose on the snowplow (curses) fixed and ready for more snow(more curses) I would rather be working on or riding my Drifter! Spring is coming tho; patience patience. ( I have to keep telling myself that) :D :)

Amen Brutah! I have to keep telling myself that too... worst is, I bought the Drifter after it had snowed, so she's sitting in the guys garage, 40 mins away... I can't even go out and sit on her if I want. :'(
However, I can pull out the title & keys and smile. :D
It's a very nasty night in Indiana......

Hey that looks like my front yard too!!!!!!!!!!!! I think we missed the BIG snow they were predicting and we never got the major winds they were expecting. Which is a good thing. The snow is like potato flakes! You could probably use a leaf blower to clean the drive, that's how powdery it is. We ended up with about 6-7 inches so not too bad.
We got 7 1/2 on top of the 8 we had from the storm last Friday. Oh, and I know where your 35mph winds ended up!
I feel you you guys and all that snow. I for one fired mine up and rode to work today. It only rains in the Pacific Northwest. Plan on riding all four days of work. 90% chance for rain, 20mph winds. It's far better than that white stuff. ;D
Yeah "only" rains... constantly!! <LOL>
OK .... yes it rains ALL the time here (40 inches a year), but it only dumps about 8 inches of snow a year and it melts before noon ;D, so don the rain gear and ride.
rub it in some more :P Good thing about these late winter snows is they don't stick around for very long and spring is on it's way!!!!! Keep riding for me until then! ;) ;D
AND... its a damn COLD rain in the winter!!! LOL///
(I was in tacoma, WA for a while)
Yes the rain is cold, it feels like needles in the eyes when you forget your glasses. I ride with my snow skiing gear on, I wear a skeleton face neoprene face mask. Wanted a glow in the dark one (since I ride to and from work in the dark right now) but my wife said NO. ....Bless her heart.... she's not a biker girl, wants me to trailer my bike to Durango, can you believe that. ;D 8) she says it will be tooo hot to ride ::)
No such thing as "too hot to ride"!
OK....I have to rub it in to all of you that are snow bound. 55-60 degrees, Sunshine for the Northwest the next four days ;D. Yes I rode today... did some fine tuning with my laptop to my power commander, Got my ride running a little leaner. SO for you snow bound riders I'll spend some time riding for you, and yes I will be enjoying it. 8)
I have a snow drift at the end of my drive thats literally as tall as I am.
I think my high school science teacher was right... we are moving towards another ice age. <g>
Sorry to hear that Phil! Snow is melting fast here now. My drive should be clear by this weekend and we are supposed to be in the low to mid 30's, I foresee a short ride on the main road to see how well it is going to run and to get rid of the carbon build up (and cabin fever! ;D)
Snowed yesterday, melting today, snowbanks 4 and 5 feet tall all around my place, starting to melt but supposed to be 10 below by Monday; oh well another 2 months I should be able to get a bike out, all will be good then!
Regards and such, 49Reo ;D
Update on today's ride, Sunny, 60 degrees. Washed and wax before I rode this time. I wanted it to turn some heads, of course the loud pipes do that. The wind in your face was cool, not cold. rode with a light jacket and thin gloves. To bad for those of you who are still fighting the snow. ;D This is the kind of grin i had on while riding ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D. May the snow melt by June, sorry chief and Anneoakley I had to say that.
OK, as of today.....31 days til the first official day of spring.......CAN'T WAIT!
On of our maintenance men came through yesterday and said he hear that we are supposed to be in the 50's by the first week of March. I think I could deal with that ;D ;D ;D
I could take some of that!
WOW can you believe that I've had six days of riding? The sun has been shining and 60 degree weather. And to top it all off, my bike is running, not good but running. the morning have been a chilly ride 30 degrees, but well worth it. Hope all of you snow bound drifters get your rides out for a cruise soon.
That was not even nice........... :P ;D Gues what? My bike is back to running CRAPPY. We had a nice day last friday so I fired him up. I only went downtown and he started bucking so I has to take him back. grrrrrr. Back to square one.
mine tries to buck when in town. runs real crappy in town. Since I live in the country and don't have to ride into town to get to work. I am able to open her up and let her fly. She runs good at the top end of each gear. But a crappy ride is better than no ride, it still feels good to be on her back. May our good times roll soon.
AnneOakley did you put the Fuel modulator back on your bike?
Sorry to hear it.
I've forgotten all you have done, but the plugs can foul quickly, sitting will cause it to run poorly for a while. It may just need to be opened up a bit. Also make sure you aren't lugging the engine. I have a tendency to shift too quickly... (bad old harley habit).
yep, I put that part back on. It was running much better until friday. Now we have popping cracking backfirirg and black smoke...hey!! sounds just like your bike! ;D I'm pulling plugs tonite but I think it is something else. Still searching for a good mechanic.. :'(
I clean my plugs once a week. All four are always black, got rid of some of the black smoke. You can still smell gas a car length away.Hoping it goes away when I get it dyno'd.
Spring riding feels good!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Bike running, very little smoke, no backfiring, nice idle, fresh plugs (the right size is important too, I might need to explain that to the local Kawasaki shop owner.) Yep wrong plugs in my bike. I love my Clymer motorcycle repair manual, it just might be my new best friend!!! (might save me a couple hundred dollars next time!) Sunshine today and I feel another ride is in order after work!
55 F here in Southern New Hampshire, all this week. Spring is early; I rode all over the place.
Varooom
Tons of miles under my belt the last few days! Feels GREAT!
BTW, I slapped some new plugs in the bike. They're a bit cooler then stock (7's instead of 6's). I was told by several bike mechanics that I should only run NGK's or Denso's in the bike. If I used Champions or whatnot, I'd have trouble with then fouling out early. Sound familiar anyone?
I haven't heard that. I know cooler plugs are more prone to fouling.
Yeah, I'm not sure how true it is, but thats what they said.
I didn't think about cooler plugs fouling.
Oh, and today........WE HIT 73 DEGREES!!!!!!!! And sun too!
Yeah, it was about 63 or so here, but rain and clouds.
I'm REALLY ready for spring and summer this year. This winter was the worst we've had in 5-6 years.
Cheers.
OK AnneOakley Which plugs did you put in your bike. I'd like to try them on mine. Still raining in the Northwest, but I'm still riding. looking for the sun to come out.
I'll get the numbers off of the box. Their NGK's. I still have not been able to take the bike out on a clear highway and really open him up and run through the gears, but through town I have much improvement. The last time I had the bike at the dealer he adjusted my idle, I'm not thrilled with the setting, it sounds too fast so I'm trying to tweek that a little too. I'm still playing with the cobra fuel processor a little too. I think I can get it a tad bit better than I have it now. I would really love to get it in somewhere for a good dyno tune up, but here in the backwoods of northern Indiana there is no such beast! 1-2 hour drive to the closest "big city"...rain the next couple of days but we're holding in the 50's ;D I think I even see the buds coming out on the maple trees!
