Title: Final gear case oil change
Post by: gwilki on June 24, 2021, 07:42:48 AM
I am about to change the final gear case oil in my recently-bought 1999 1500. The service manual says that the gasket on the drain plug should be replaced. I can find the part number on partzilla - 92022-1105 - but cannot find one locally.

Since I have not yet removed the plug, I have no idea what this things looks like. Can someone tell me if this can be replaced with some sort of generic gasket or washer? Or, can the old one be re-used?

thanks

It's just a crush washer...nothing special. If you have a torch, you can anneal it and reuse...or get a new one at your favourite auto parts store.

I change the oil in mine every 6,000 miles. Never have had to replace the washer on the drain plug, ever. I have 132,000 miles on mine, so it's been out a few times...

Thanks to both of you. I found one for a whole 1.30 at a local repair shop. Another job done.

Same (but less mileage)
