Title: Bike dies while riding
Post by: Thor555 on May 14, 2021, 02:49:52 AM
I love my Drifter 1500 year 2001. When I drive the engine sometimes shuts down while driving. It can happen at any speed. It happens more often when I turn left!? The engine dies but if I quickly turn of the ignition key (while ridning) and turn it on again the engine starts again. I think this might have to do with the vehicle down sensor. Any one who knows? Where is this sensor located on the bike?

I think the VD sensor is under the seat near the rear of the gas tank.  First thing I'd check though is the ground and battery connections.

If the tipover switch is activated, the efi light will flash until the ign is cycled. Is this happening?

Probably I'm telling a dumb thing, but I'd also check the side stand: it's got a switch that will shut off the engin, if the side stand is open.

I know this is old... but what was the fix?
