Title: 800 Drifter help
Post by: amishart on April 24, 2011, 14:03:43 PM
800  05 Drifter, There is a small plastic  bottle about 3" long near the front frame, next to a coolant hose. It has a hose about 10" long with a small clamp on it. Does anybody know what this connects to, and what does it do.

This bottle "catches" blowback and condensation from the airbox and puts it in an easy-to-see but oh-so-ugly position.  I empty mine about every 5-600 miles.  It shouldn't be too difficult to find a less-unsightly spot for it.  Consider it as payment for the snake-like air intake tract which eats up valuable space under the tank that could've been used for a larger-capacity tank. I just added a hypercharger so evidently I dissconnected it somewhere. I eliminated the afterburner so I guess it's not needed. Does anyone know if I'm correct here? The bike seems to run allright, but I haven't had it on the road yet. We're under a deluge here in West Ky.
