I have been trying to find a backrest for it whose brackets will fit the seat bracket that is used with this seat (and is shown with this particular seat in that specific photo). I know there are tons of aftermarket backrests, but I haven't found one that I know has the correct brackets that are to be used.
Hoping someone else has the same seat and can point me to the right backrest... BTW: I am wanting only a backrest with no (luggage) rack and that doesn't attached to sidebar hardware as I don't have any.
I've got a backrest that I use when I ride with the 2-up conf.: it's from Ledrie's, a maker that now is out of business.
I've been very lucky to find one, because they're way harder to find nowadays.
For what I know, there isn't any maker that still produces after market backrests for the Drifter...
Your only way to find one, is to keep on huntin' over the internet for a second hand one.

here is my own design. Have to use with the rack. I do have one oem backrest and pad that will mount on the seat as well with the same rails used for my rack and backrest mount....message me if you are interested.
the only drawback is that you can't use the grab bar. The mounts for the backrest go in the same holes.
The large backrest pad is an "Indian" pad that I mounted to my setup. I do not have a picture of the oem style one, but that one does not require the rear rack pictured. The one that is fully my design requires the rear rack.
