I am beside myself. I took my 99 in for a master cylinder rebuild and when I came to pick up my bike I found it with a broken front fender. The Kawi stealership that was working on it won't take responsibility for the damage and now I need to replace it.
As we all know, parts aren't available. Does anyone know of anyone who has a front fender for sale, or a lead on a replacement. I know about the guy on Ebay that casts them in fiberglass. I would prefer a factory one if possible. Also does anyone know about the quality and accuracy to original color from colorite?

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, a lot of the chocks used to secure the bike to lift tables pinch the rear of the Front fender. Depending upon the damage, you might be able to repair it. I don't have any info on a new/replacement fender, but i have seen them for sale periodically. You just need to keep an eye on the various sites. I will also do some looking and keep my eyes open for you.
The aftermarket ones comes from Oldys Custom Composites, they have a web site and sell on ebay.
Colorite works okay, but with the age of our bikes the color will likely not match. Best to go to a body shop and see if they will match the color for you. Will likely cost you.

Good news. There is presently a decent condition fender on Ebay. Needs some paint, but - your Drifter can be back to normal after it's repainted by a body shop.

As for the Kawasaki shop - I would demand to speak to the manager, and go up the chain until you get someone to help you out.
Sometimes, it helps to stand outside with a sign that says " This dealership damaged my motorcycle and won't pay for it " - they will call the cops, but as long as you're on public land - they can't do anything about it. The key is - to be a nuisance about it until they capitulate and pay for damages. Best way to get your way - is to threaten incoming business. I used to work for a sign company and the owner would send a mockup of the banner on a vehicle photoshopped in front of their business as a " Do the right thing, or else we will do this. "
Definitely save receipts.
